Den nye AI er i stand til at konkurrere med nogle af de bedste modeller, der findes i USA, men til en brøkdel af omkostningerne. Dette har sendt aktien på en rutsjebanetur, og den har ramt et 52-ugers lavpunkt på 114,41 dollars. Investorerne frygter, at den nye konkurrent kan skygge for AMD's fremtidige vækst og profitabilitet.
Samtidig har NVIDIA Corporation og AMD fået væsentlige opdateringer fra KeyBanc Capital Markets, hvilket har kastet yderligere skygger over AMD's aktie. Aktien faldt med 6,9% mandag, hvor den tidligere havde været nede med hele 8,2% i løbet af dagen.
