I den nyeste og mest spektakulære omgang med SpaceX har Elon Musk og hans team gjort sig klar til at tage os ud på en strabatisk rejse ind i rummet med Starship Flight 6. Med tre Falcon 9 raketter affyret inden for 20 timer, er det tydeligt, at SpaceX ikke bremser op! Denne gang var det Starship, der stod for tur til at blæse støv af launchpad’en i Boca Chica, Texas. Trumfkortet ved denne testflyvning? Ingen ringere end præsidentvalgt Donald Trump der var til stede for at se det hele udfolde sig. Kan man forestille sig et mere storslået syn end Musk og Trump under den samme himmel, forenet af en fælles drøm om Mars?

Musk og hans team har for nylig valgt at droppe planer om at genfange Super Heavy boosterens første fase efter opsendelsen. Det har ført til, at mange fik tårer i øjnene, da de vidnede til, at boosterens landing endte med en vandlandingsafslutning i stedet for en triumferende tilbagevenden til launchpad’en. Selvom missionen ikke gik helt efter planen, så var der stadig spektakulære visuelle indtryk at hente, mens Starship en time senere fløj videre på sin rejse – om ikke til Mars, så ihvertfald til verdens nysgerrighed.

Det er hyggeligt at tænke på, hvordan SpaceX, en engang lille virksomhed, nu er en central aktør i rumfartsindustrien. Med et væld af forbedringer og drømmende visioner om fremtidige missioner, holder Musk sig aldrig tilbage. Der vidner lanceringen af den sjette testflyvning om muskelkraften bag hans ambitioner – det var en fest at overvære denne milepæl.

For dem der ikke fik nok af festlighederne, så dukker der altid nye spændende nyheder op fra rumkapløbet. Ved at tage et skridt videre i rumfartens udvikling, opfordrer Musk enhver sjæl til at drømme stort og til at arbejde hen imod den kollektive galaktiske fremtid. Og husk, at det for både Musk og Trump kun er begyndelsen - det handler om at skyde mod stjernerne, selvom de midlertidigt må holde på hverken fangst eller favoritfremtræden.

Som en sjov faktaværdi er SpaceX’s Starship ikke bare en raket; det er designet til at transportere op til 100 mennesker ad gangen. Og vær opmærksom på, at Elon Musk drømmer om en besætning på Mars i de næste 10 til 20 år. En drøm, der en dag måske bliver til virkelighed!
