Appen, som minder meget om Twitter og deler en af sine medstiftere med platformen, er blevet et tilflugtssted for dem, der ønsker en mere positiv oplevelse online. Efter den seneste præsidentvalg i USA har mange brugere søgt mod Bluesky for at finde et alternativ til Elon Musks Twitter, der i stigende grad er blevet præget af både kontroverser og bizarre indlæg.
I ugen efter det amerikanske valg er Bluesky gået viralt og tiltrukket en million nye brugere, inklusive berømtheder som Lizzo, der offentliggjorde sin tilslutning med ordene "Jeg hader internettet", og erklærede, at de forlod "toxiciteten" i 2024. Dette fænomen er blevet kaldt den store migration fra X, hvilket kun viser, hvor stærkt behovet for en mere venlig og inkluderende sociale medieplatform er. Mediestrømmen af nye og spændende indhold, som følger den afslappede atmosfære i appen, tiltrækker et stadig større publikum. Spørgsmålet er nu, om Bluesky kan opretholde dette momentum og undgå de udfordringer, som mange sociale medier har stået overfor i fortiden.
Interessant nok blev Bluesky først designet som en invitation-only platform og åbnede først op for offentligheden i februar. Dette kunne måske være én af grundene til, at folk hungrer efter en plads her. En anden spændende detalje er, at appen er støttet af en tidligere Twitter-toneangivende, der ønsker at skabe en mere sund og bæredygtig online kultur. Det kunne være starten på en ny æra for sociale medier – og hvem ved, måske er Bluesky den oase, vi alle har ventet på!
