Nordkorea har taget et spændende skridt mod international anerkendelse ved at ansøge om, at taekwondo bliver indskrevet som en immateriel kulturarv hos UNESCO. Denne traditionelle koreanske kampsport har lange historiske rødder, og Nordkorea ønsker åbenbart at fremhæve dens unikke betydning.
