Sheikh Hasina har sagt farvel efter et 15-årigt styre – men hvad sker der nu for Bangladesh?

Bangladesh har i de seneste uger været præget af heftig uro og voldsomme protester mod den siddende premierminister, Sheikh Hasina. Efter en periode med høj spænding endte det med, at Hasina trak sig tilbage og forlod landet. Det skete mandag efter en dag, hvor næsten 100 mennesker mistede livet i voldelige sammenstød mellem demonstranter og sikkerhedsstyrker. Hasinas afgang, der kom som et chok for mange, markerer slutningen på en 15-årig periode præget af politisk dominans og strenge sikkerhedsforanstaltninger i landet.

Demonstranterne i Bangladesh har i lang tid krævet Hasinas afgang, og det tydeliggjorde den voksende utilfredshed blandt befolkningen over regeringspolitikkerne og vanskelighederne i at få adgang til offentlige stillinger.
