To kvinder, Frances og Laine, begge 39 år, mødtes mens de arbejdede på en folkeskole i New Jersey i 2009. Selvom de havde forskellige synspunkter om emner som immigration, kongehuset og Storbritanniens koloniale fortid, formåede de alligevel at finde fælles grund og udvikle et tæt venskab. Frances indrømmer, at hun oprindeligt ikke troede, at Laine var interesseret i hende, men som tiden gik, opdagede de, at de delte mange fælles interesser og værdier. Deres historie er et inspirerende eksempel på, hvordan venskaber kan opstå på trods af forskelle og uenigheder. På trods af deres modsatte synspunkter voksede deres venskab sig stærkere og stærkere, og de to kvinder er nu uadskillelige bedste veninder.
