Den israelske hær har fundet ligene af tre personer, der blev dræbt under massakren på Nova musikfestivalen den 7. oktober, herunder Shani Louk. De tre, Amit Buskila, Yitzhak Gelerenter og Shani Louk, blev kidnappet og dræbt af Hamas terrorister, som senere skjulte deres lig i en tunnel i Gaza. Den israelske premierminister Benjamin Netanyahu udtalte, 'Dette forfærdelige tab er hjerteskærende. Vi vil bringe alle vores gidsler tilbage, både de levende og de afdøde.' Trods den tragiske begivenhed fortsætter Israel med indsatsen for at bringe de resterende 129 gidsler tilbage fra Gaza. Shani Louks krop blev paraderet halvnøgen gennem gaderne af Gaza af Hamas-militanter før hendes død, hvilket har forårsaget dyb forargelse og sorg i Israel og internationalt.
