St. Pauli fejrede en imponerende sejr og vendte tilbage til Bundesligaen efter en ventetid på 13 år. Holdet sikrede sig oprykning med en 3-1 sejr over nedrykningstruede Osnabrück i Tysklands anden division. Dapo Afolayan var kampens helt med sine to mål, mens topscorer Marcel Hartel også bidrog med en scoring. Det var St. Paulis første optræden i Bundesligaen siden 2011, og fansene fejrede med glæde og stolthed. Den tidligere Bolton-stjerne Afolayan bar holdet til sejr og glædede også Bolton-fansene med hans præstation.
