Israel udvider evakueringsordrer i Rafah og skaber kaos

Israels militær har udstedt nye evakueringsordrer i Gaza's sydligste by, Rafah, og tvinger endnu flere palæstinensere til at genoplokaliseres forud for den eskalerende militære indsats. Evakueringerne omfattede tæt befolkede kvarterer, et hospital og to flygtningelejre i centrale Rafah, og risikerede at vække vrede hos Det Hvide Hus. Samtidig har israelske styrker erobret Gaza-siden af Rafah-overgangen, hvilket har tvunget den til at lukke ned, mens Egypten har nægtet at koordinere med Israel om leveringen af nødhjælp.

FN og andre organisationer har advaret i ugevis om et israelsk angreb på Rafah, der grænser op til Egypten ved de vigtigste indgangspunkter for nødhjælp. Desuden har FN's agentur for palæstinensiske flygtninge sagt, at mindst 300.000 mennesker er berørt af Israels nye evakueringsordrer i Gaza. Situationen er blevet mere kompliceret, da mange siger, at der ikke er nogen steder at flygte hen, og selv den såkaldte 'humanitære zone', anbefalet af Israel, hverken er sikker eller udstyret til at håndtere dem alle, ifølge FN.
