I 2024 London Marathon fandt en spektakulær begivenhed sted, hvor den olympiske mester Peres Jepchirchir vandt i en imponerende præstation. Hun brød verdensrekorden og sejrede i en usædvanlig tid på to timer, 16 minutter og 16 sekunder.
