Earth Hour er en årlig begivenhed, hvor ikoniske landemærker rundt om i verden slukker lyset som en symbolsk handling for at skabe opmærksomhed om klimaforandringer. Fra Ferris Wheel på Santa Monica Pier i Californien til Buckingham Palace i London og Eiffeltårnet i Paris deltager verdens mest kendte steder i denne globale miljøbevægelse. FN opfordrer folk over hele kloden til at deltage ved at slukke lyset lørdag aften klokken 20:30 lokal tid for at mindes planetens behov for beskyttelse.

Earth Hour 2024 er en af de største verdensomspændende begivenheder, hvor ikoniske steder markerer aftenen ved at gå i mørke. Fra Sydney Opera House til Empire State Building i New York, markeres begivenheden med et symbolsk slukning af lyset. Manhattans Space Needle vil også slukke lyset for at bidrage til kampen mod klimaforandringer, som en del af WWF's kampagne for en bedre planet.

Nashville slutter sig til andre byer over hele verden i den globale 'Lights Off'-bevægelse for at skabe opmærksomhed omkring klimaforandringer. Den årlige Earth Hour er en international festligholdelse af planeten, hvor folk opfordres til at slukke for enhver ikke-essentiel belysning i 60 minutter. Manitobas regering opfordrer også borgerne til at deltage i Earth Hour og slukke lyset for at støtte kampen for en mere bæredygtig fremtid.

I Santa Monica Pier går Ferris Wheel i mørket, og i Sydney slukkes lyset i Opera House. Disse handlinger er en påmindelse om vores planet behov for beskyttelse mod klimaforandringer og opfordrer til handling mod en mere bæredygtig fremtid.
