Haiti i Kaos: Væbnede Bandemedlemmer Tager Kontrol Over Hovedstaden

Haitis hovedstad, Port-au-Prince, er i kaos, da væbnede bander har overtaget kontrollen. Volden er intensiveret, efter bander gennemførte fængselsudbrud fra landets to største fængsler tidligere på måneden. Den frygtede bandeleder 'Barbecue' siges at være den mest magtfulde mand i Haiti, men mens han hævder at føre de fattige imod en korrupt regering, peger eksperter på en mørk og voldelig fortid. Samtidig er volden ved at lamme Haitis skrøbelige økonomi og forårsage fødevaremangel. Rotte frugter, visnede grøntsager og tomme vanddunke præger nu butikkerne og boderne, der betjener Haitis fattige befolkning.

I en desperat situation er dusinvis af udlændinge fanget i Haiti, hvor de venter på desperat at finde en udvej.
