The director's creative team behind the scenes includes director of photography Pawel Pogorzelski ("Midsommar," "Hereditary"), production designer John Billington ("Bad Boys for Life"), editor Craig Alpert ("Deadpool 2," "The Lost City"), Oscar-nominated costume designer Mayes C. ) as Carapax, with Oscar winner Susan Sarandon ("Monarch," "Dead Man Walking") as Victoria Kord, and George Lopez (the "Rio and "Smurf" franchises) as Jaime's Uncle Rudy. The film also stars Belissa Escobedo ("American Horror Stories," "Hocus Pocus 2") as Jaime's sister, Milagro, and Harvey Guillén ("What We Do in the Shadows") as Dr. "The studio kind of allowed me to run free in my creativity, and unbeknownst to them and to me, I guess what they were able to see as the promise of how we picture Palmera City, how we really wanted the suit to be, and how in the bigger realm of this cultural side is the impact that this can have culturally," Soto continued. From Ted Kord to Jaime Reyes, the multiple versions of Blue Beetle have starred in some incredible DC comic books from the Silver Age to present day.

The coming-of-age origin story involves Reyes learning about the Scarab after it binds to his spine from Ted Kord and Doctor Fate. Of course, the best Blue Beetle comics include Ted Kord's pal [Booster Gold](https://www.cbr.com/tag/booster-gold/) and the immense superpowers conjured from the Blue Beetle Scarab. Defined by terrific chemistry, witty banter, and a hilarious odd-couple dynamic that provides endless entertainment, the comic fuses sidesplitting humor with head-spinning action, including Booster traveling through time to save his best friend Blue Beetle from sudden death. During DC's New 52, Blue Beetle and the Sacred Scarab were given another compelling comic book character reinvention that comes to a head in the excellent story Metamorphosis. Too often El Paso is forgotten, relegated to intangible, almost unreachable status until it makes the news as a result of a It’s not the El Paso that my family knows. But he is the first with supernatural abilities, which are derived from a technologically advanced alien scarab that attaches itself to the kid. I was eager to see a Texas town featured prominently in a live-action superhero movie—to think of all the young folks across the state who would see themselves in Reyes.
