Speaking exclusively to LancsLive, Paul Weller spoke on his new job at Colne FC, Burnley's season so far and run-ins with former Burnley bosses...
They will all be challenged that little bit more, the defenders will be a little bit cuter, they'll challenge you and be faster. They know the way that we are playing, they know that the full-backs will tuck in, and the things they do are different to the norm that they are used to - but they're loving it. He's brought in a lot of new players and it's only natural that not all of them are going to be up to playing in the Premier League, not all of them are up to playing in the Championship. Against Wigan for example, he made two great saves and at the end of the day, when you're in the Premier League, it's about keeping the ball out of the net as well as keeping the ball. We know he's very good with his feet, he can find a pass he's so composed at the back and he doesn't panic. The 100-point mark is surely going to be battered, or at the worst hit, but it's the brand of football and certain clubs want that brand of football. "I look back and I played under Adrian Heath, and for me because he came in as a pro in the latter stages of his career, I got on really well with him. I think Burnley have got to spend a bit of money to recruit, obviously there are a lot of loan players as well, but I think the big thing for Burnley and the chairman is to keep hold of Vincent Kompany. Jokingly, Weller said: "Stan was the best manager because I had six years of him, but would I say that I got on really well with him? Originally taken in on an interim basis, Weller can only look to the coming games in terms of what he has for now. Obviously it's new for me, it's new not just in terms of the players or the surroundings, but it's the level of football - everything. We have two games against teams that are around us and three games against teams in the top five.
