Hugh Grant's return to the Oscars proved very memorable before he even took the stage to present.

Andie has been wearing one every day for the last 29 years, I’ve never used one in my life,” Grant said, before self-deprecatingly pointing to MacDowell and then himself, “Still stunning, basically a scrotum.” (You can watch video of Grant and MacDowell’s exchange below his red carpet interview.) Things got from bad to worse when Graham asked the standard “What are you wearing” red carpet question. Graham agreed and proceeded to ask who he was most excited to see tonight in a couple of different ways. “Yeah but still, you showed up and you had fun right? “No one in particular.” He joined ABC pre-show’s [Ashley Graham](https://deadline.com/tag/ashley-graham/) for a train wreck red carpet interview, which set social media on fire.

It seemed to me that he made an effort to answer the questions that were ill-prepared and not at all relevant to the kind of person he is. He smiled and seemed to do his best to give some sort of response, even if this was not appreciated by the worldwide audience. Or perhaps his replies were just his way of trying to manage an awkward situation. It’s clear to see that the actor was uncomfortable with the line of questioning, which was a little vacuous and superficial. I thought he answered the best way he could and that he couldn’t wait for it to be over. As usual, the Oscars created a few headlines, and not for the movies they’re meant to honor.

“Vulnerability is the buzzword of 2023, and there’s simply nothing more vulnerable than not being ‘perfect’ at work.” “Well, I’m barely in it,” Grant retorted. “Even at a junior level, it’s important to show that you know your worth and you’re not willing to be pushed around or patronized at work—especially if you’re a woman in the workplace,” she adds. “It’s crucial to understand that a junior’s question will come from a place of less experience and possibly knowledge,” Cotton says while advising leaders actively listen and frame their responses in “an encouraging manner so that the person is educated, rather than belittled.” “Everyone has a part to play in their industry, right from those at the top, to those at entry level, a point where all of us, including Hugh Grant, have been,” Trice added. “Yes, he is a big star and maybe having to talk to the press might seem like a task as times, but it kind of goes with the territory, and it’s also about his personal brand and reputation,” she says.
