Tesla crashes into Scottsdale building and catches fire - twice (FOX 10 News Phoenix)

A witness said the Tesla driver was in the parking lot and was trying to park when the car suddenly lurched forward, crashing into the building.

The stock is slated for excellent long-term performance, but now isn't the right time to grab shares. But without a time machine, investors are forced to pay a 69% premium to what Tesla entered 2023 at. But with Wall Street analysts projecting earnings per share to fall this year due to the price cuts, Tesla's valuation will only get more expensive if the stock stays at the same price. Even at its lowest point right after the new year, the company maintained a near 200% premium in terms of valuation over Toyota. Because Tesla has more wiggle room with its margins than others, it can afford to make less money on each car it produces. Furthermore, while other automakers' revenue growth rises and falls from quarter to quarter, Tesla's growth has constantly remained ahead of everyone else.

Tesla: Low Costs, Peer-Leading Margins, Solid Growth Potential (Seeking Alpha)

Tesla had a record-breaking 2022. Its revenue grew 51% year-on-year to $81.4 billion in 2022. Read more about TSLA here.

With the financial resources, years of work in this direction, and a history of innovation, we would lean toward it coming to a position to immensely benefit from this technology in the future. Although Tesla enjoys the highest market share in EVs globally, its market share declined in 2022. The base model 3 is available in the market for $42,990. The company has recently released FSD Beta to all customers in US and Canada. This could result in lower growth in deliveries in the initial years. In the last five years, it has grown at a CAGR of 34%. In 2022, BYD held 16% of the market share. This has also encouraged its competitors to do the same. The revenue growth was driven by growth in vehicle deliveries and other parts of the business during the year.

While increasing the following distance is always a good idea at high speed and can help prevent crashes, the fact remains that no one expects a wrong-way driver to show up in front of them on the highway. Unfortunately, he sideswiped the front wheel of a UPS semi-truck in the process. As the video taken by the car's cameras shows, everything was going great until a wrong-way driver appeared out of nowhere in front of the Tesla. Tesla Prepares for Factory Tours at Giga Berlin with New Hire (Tesla Software Updates)

Tesla is hiring a Content and Programs Associate to lead factory tours at Giga Berlin-Brandenburg, marking a defining moment for the company in Europe.

If Tesla can continue to offer price cuts, it could attract more new buyers as the company ramps up production at its new plants in Austin, Texas, and near Berlin, while expanding capacity in Shanghai. While the changes could bring the price down, it is worth noting that when Tesla refreshed the Model S and Model X, the prices jumped by 12% and 15%. According to Bloomberg's analysis, the price gap between the Model 3 and the average new vehicle sold in the US has never been wider. In addition, General Motors is slated to launch electric versions of its Chevrolet Blazer and Equinox SUVs later this year, right in the middle of America's first-ever EV price war. Once the cable is returned, the stall will automatically lock the CCS1 adapter back to the Magic Dock and unlock it from Tesla's NACS port. With Tesla's recent price cuts and government incentives, the company has now achieved this milestone for the Model 3. Once they select a stall, the "Magic Dock" will unlock the CCS1 adapter and attach and lock it to the NACS connector, and the charging process will begin. However, there may be other issues related to the short charging cable's physical compatibility and the charging inlet's various locations in non-Tesla EVs. However, dock blocking is a concern that must be addressed to prevent frustration and backlash from Tesla drivers. Tesla is installing the Magic Dock at several locations across the United States, just days after announcing it would expand its Supercharging network to support non-Tesla electric vehicles. The tours used to be available at no cost to any Tesla owners. The successful candidate will manage tour requests and bookings, present compelling content to a broad audience, plan and execute events, and interact with public and internal stakeholders.

Musk's Secret, Secret Master Plan for Tesla Is So Obvious (Bloomberg)

Deliver on his 17-year-old promise of a mass-market car and sell more of today's lineup.

Tesla didn’t exactly follow that path, mainly because the cost of building a car company means selling the dream to the stock market is more important than reinvesting revenue. [original](https://www.tesla.com/blog/secret-tesla-motors-master-plan-just-between-you-and-me) Master Plan, blogged in 2006 — four years before Tesla listed — read like a standard Silicon Valley bootstrapping pitch: Sell an expensive car to first adopters then use the proceeds to build cheaper cars for a bigger market and so on. Elon Musk is about to release the third iteration of his “Master Plan” for Tesla Inc., something he has apparently been working on for

Musk's Secret, Secret Master Plan for Tesla Is So Obvious (The Washington Post)

Deliver on his 17-year-old promise of a mass-market car and sell more of today's lineup.

For 2023, we expect to remain ahead of the long-term 50% CAGR with around 1.8M cars for the year.” The latter is critical to any loftier goal of energy transition at scale and was, after all, the main objective of that original Master Plan 17 years ago. Which is why the point of the Master Plan is simply to have one rather than it serving as a means of accountability on execution. Even then, with Tesla somehow accounting for a third of the global passenger vehicle market by the end of the decade, you would have to also apply a discount rate of 2% — half the 10-year Treasury yield — for today’s valuation to pencil out. Coincidence or not, the promise of a new, sweeping plan is helpfully-timed balm. Liam Denning is a Bloomberg Opinion columnist covering energy and commodities. Nonetheless, Musk tweets that it will offer “the path to a fully sustainable energy future for Earth.” And as total addressable markets go, Earth is pretty big. Say what you will, but the man selling pricey driver-assistance technology marketed as “Autopilot” and “Full Self Driving” — the latter of which, according to regulators, might get a bit confused around intersections — is a stickler for semantics. (1) “We are planning to grow production as quickly as possible in alignment with the 50% CAGR target we began guiding to in early 2021. Recall that when Tesla released its 2022 results, it said it aimed to produce 1.8 million vehicles this year. Given that the details of Master Plan, Part Deux add up to mostly fan fiction thus far, Master Plan-à-Trois is likely to require the barest of tweaks to keep the fans engaged. The second iteration was more manifesto than plan, mixing defensiveness about the then ongoing, and dubious, SolarCity Corp.

Also in 2016, he [announced his tunneling venture](https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2022/08/elon-musks-biggest-boondoggle.html), the Boring Company, as a way to “solve traffic.” As he championed that ludicrously expensive “ [one Tesla at a time through a neon-lit hole](https://www.curbed.com/2022/01/elon-musk-las-vegas-tunnel-ces.html)” concept, he was either ignoring or forgetting his own Master Plan sustainable-transportation blueprint. It will be much like all of Musk’s events: part investor pep rally and part media spectacle. His assertions that Tesla was “deploying partial autonomy now” and that “as the technology matures, all Tesla vehicles will have the hardware necessary to be fully self-driving with fail-operational capability” came just weeks after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened its [first investigation](https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/trafficandcommuting/ntsb-says-driver-in-fatal-tesla-crash-was-overreliant-on-the-cars-autopilot-system/2017/09/12/38e5f130-9730-11e7-82e4-f1076f6d6152_story.html) into a death of someone using the existing partial-autonomy tool, an event [acknowledged solemnly by Musk, who promised improvements. Tesla's Investor Day: What It Means For BYD And Lucid (Seeking Alpha)

TSLA will have its investor day on March 1. It plans to release its Master Plan 3. Read how this event could impact EV competitors Lucid and BYD.

If Tesla were to announce a focus on cheaper EVs, that could impact its brand image in the future, as Tesla might be seen as more of a mass market player like VW or Toyota if it were to expand substantially in lower-price segments. The announcement of Tesla's Master Plan 3 will be of interest for TSLA owners, of course, but depending on what Tesla announces, other companies might be impacted as well. That being said, BYD looks like the best in the group to me at current prices, thanks to a low valuation, massive scale, and extraordinary growth. Depending on what Tesla announces, a pureplay premium manufacturer such as Lucid could be impacted positively (if Tesla moves down toward the mass market) or negatively (if new high-end vehicles are introduced). If Tesla were to enter the lower-priced EV market in force, it's also possible that margins for the whole industry come under pressure, as increasing competition in the automobile industry has a tendency of pressuring margins for all players. It's active in many different markets (battery production, passenger EVs, commercial EVs), it showcases rapid growth, and it's trading at a pretty low valuation relative to how other EV players are valued: While new announcements in areas such as solar panels or home battery systems likely won't impact EV companies too much, new model announcements or similar items could have a large impact on BYD, Lucid, NIO ( The update could also include announcements regarding Tesla's Cybertruck (originally presented in 2019) or the Roadster 2 (originally planned for 2020). Tesla's past master plans included the introduction of new vehicles to access new market segments, and the plan generally was that profits from higher-priced models would fund the development for new models. That hasn't really worked out as intended, as Tesla wasn't profitable when it was only selling the S and the Roadster, thus the development of new models such as the 3 and Y was funded by the issuance of shares, not by the profits from the first models. It will showcase Tesla's goals, strategy, and plans, even though it is not guaranteed that all of these goals will be met eventually. While it's not perfectly clear what exactly Tesla will be announcing and/or showing at that event, there are some items that could be of importance.

Morgan Stanley analysts expect Tesla to unveil a suite of technologies that could foster the mass adoption of electric vehicles.

The Morgan Stanley analysts noted that Tesla would have to lower the average selling price of their vehicles for this to happen. “With a stated target of a competitive offering at a $25,000 price point, Tesla will have to make significant progress from their current COGS per vehicle (~$39k in FY22). Elon Musk is getting attention from Mexican politicians eager to host a new Tesla plant, but the Avocado Tesla is clearly the best attempt.

It’s just a matter of when, where and who has the best avocados in the country. A sibling rivalry between Mexican states is hardly enough to shoo Musk away when so many of Tesla’s competitors run production plants in the country. Instead, he highlighted abundant resources in the country’s southeast and the appeal of moving close to a new airport in the State of Mexico that’s one of his major infrastructure projects. And one of the major promises during his presidential campaign was that he’d help bring more money to southern Mexico via development. The president makes no mention of cartel violence in his remarks, but the concern is always valid. While that is a possibility, it seems unlikely. “The permits are simply not issued for that, I mean it is not feasible.” It seems that Michoacán’s governor, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, knows the way to anybody’s heart is through the stomach: [85% off$25 Jeans - Jachs NY](https://www.pjtra.com/t/8-11779-163529-164504?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.jachsny.com%2Fcollections%2F25-new-jeans-closeout-sale&sid=IV-&website=280661) Still, I admire the unhinged effort as well as the fact that the governor believes Tesla would ever build a two-door vehicle. The level is that AMLO will attempt to persuade Musk that constructing a plant away from the Mexican capital may very well be a threat. Tesla's Investor Day - What's In Store For Investors? (Seeking Alpha)

Tesla, Inc. will hold an Investor Day on Wednesday, March 1st, and Elon Musk will present a Master Plan part 3. I predict what might be in that plan.

Disclosure: I/we have no stock, option or similar derivative position in any of the companies mentioned, and no plans to initiate any such positions within the next 72 hours. However, material shortages, especially lithium could easily de-rail the energy transition, it would be seen as a positive move for Tesla to lock in sources of supply for battery materials, especially lithium. [balance sheet](https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/TSLA/balance-sheet) is a snapshot of the company’s financial position at the end of the quarter, and Tesla manages its affairs to present the best possible picture at that time. It may turn out to be wrong, but to some degree, it reflects what I would do if I were in charge of Tesla. As usual, the Tesla Investor Day will generate a lot of interest. However, I think he will steer some of that expectation of growth away from the automotive sector and towards energy storage. [Liontown resources](https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-lithium-supply-deal/) will provide Tesla with 100,000 tonnes of concentrate starting in 2024, increasing to 150,000 tonnes per year in 2025. Tesla has hinted previously of plans to enter the lithium mining business. It will help Tesla fulfill the raw material sourcing requirements of the IRA act to qualify its cars for the $7,500 federal tax credit. taxpayer (that’s $4.5 billion/year at the proposed production rate) and more than $1 billion in subsidies and concessions from the state of Nevada make this a no-brainer. Lithium hydroxide is used in the manufacture of cathodes for Li-ion batteries that also contain nickel. So, if Tesla is to achieve significant growth (using units sold as the measurement), then it needs to revive the more affordable car.

Tesla's expansion of its Supercharging network to support non-Tesla electric vehicles will provide more EV options but it is raising concerns over dock ...

This unique vehicle has already been the star of the show when it appeared on The Simpsons, but it also got to be in the spotlight during the opening of Tesla’s newest facility. While the changes could bring the price down, it is worth noting that when Tesla refreshed the Model S and Model X, the prices jumped by 12% and 15%. If Tesla can continue to offer price cuts, it could attract more new buyers as the company ramps up production at its new plants in Austin, Texas, and near Berlin, while expanding capacity in Shanghai. In addition, General Motors is slated to launch electric versions of its Chevrolet Blazer and Equinox SUVs later this year, right in the middle of America's first-ever EV price war. According to Bloomberg's analysis, the price gap between the Model 3 and the average new vehicle sold in the US has never been wider. The goal of the refreshed Model 3 is to increase efficiency and cut production costs. The average cost of a new vehicle has risen more than $10,000 since the beginning of the pandemic, reaching $47,920 in January. Once the cable is returned, the stall will automatically lock the CCS1 adapter back to the Magic Dock and unlock it from Tesla's NACS port. With Tesla's recent price cuts and government incentives, the company has now achieved this milestone for the Model 3. Tesla is installing the Magic Dock at several locations across the United States, just days after announcing it would expand its Supercharging network to support non-Tesla electric vehicles.
