BMW M4 With Akrapovic Exhaust Hits The Dyno, Pops And Bangs ... (BMWBLOG)

BMW sells the long-awaited super wagon only with all-wheel drive whereas the M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe/Convertible can also be had with a rear-wheel-drive setup. Meanwhile, the iDrive 8 is coming to newly built cars this spring. [Akrapovic exhaust](https://www.bmwblog.com/2021/12/04/2021-bmw-m4-competition-akrapovic-dyno/) has made the M4 G82 Coupe sound a lot more aggressive. While the M4 Competition packs 510 horsepower and 650 Newton-meters (479 pound-feet) of torque from the factory, this car produced 537 hp and nearly 680 Nm (500 lb-ft) with a full Akrapovic exhaust. The inline-six breathes better, although we’re fairly certain many will find the pops and bangs excessive. A new video shot in Italy at BIESSE Racing-Bergamo’s dyno shows the Competition-spec coupe outpunching all inline-six 3.0-liter engine configurations offered by the German automaker.

Cheapest New BMW Is a Sporty, Luxurious Baby Bimmer With ... (MotorBiscuit.com)

The 2023 BMW 228i Gran Coupe is the cheapest new BMW and it's a substantial bargain, but it's not perfect. Read about the baby Bimmer here.

Of course, every other option in the 2 Series lineup will demand a higher starting price. For instance, the 240i xDrive is a planted AWD coupe with enough snappy acceleration to outrun a Toyota GR Supra 3.0. The new BMW 228i Gran Coupe starts at about $38,795. However, even with a horsepower figure like 228, the new base-model Bimmer outmuscles its competition. However, unlike the earliest 2 Series coupes, the latest 2 Series lineups start with the 228i Gran Coupe, an entry-level four-door sedan. However, it’s not quite up to the interior aesthetic of a closely comparable Audi A3 Premium.

It turns out he was right to be pessimistic because the car only makes 386 horsepower. [BMW 2 Series](https://www.motor1.com/bmw/2-series/), the M240i came equipped with a 3.0-liter turbo cranking out 347 horsepower.
