Bones owner Dani Fischer wants her bakery to be a place where people and their pups can spend time together and the focus is on the dogs.
"They just know it's for them and I think it's because of the environment, the treats, and the attention they get, too," Fischer said. Unless some excited pooches decide to let loose with a round of barks or howls, the shop has a relaxed atmosphere. Before Fischer launched Bones in 2016, she'd worked for 20 years on and off as a pastry chef — she started making treats for her dog as a hobby.

Her imagination really got to work at the former Royal Mint in the Tower of London. This was how quantitative easing must have looked in the 16th century. That must have caused runaway inflation of the waistline. At a Roman excavation in Bishop’s Stortford, in Hertfordshire, she commented on the elegant military brooches and hairpins: ‘The quality suggests some very well-dressed Romans.’ When she first visited the Durotriges dig, 13 years ago, she was a blonde. I was also playing collegiate volleyball and got injured and had to spend time in rehab. And of course the leaders take advantage of it. I also enjoy putting my feet up in my hammock with a beastly cold beer. I am yet to eat a town roti that tastes as good. Religion is man-made and is just a vehicle to explore one’s spirituality. I find that a bit sad because when I do manage to talk to people about it, I learn from their experiences in healthcare. I remember occasionally coming home at night with my parents to find a snake wrapped around the gate, and I have memories of finding a horseshoe in the yard…a relic of times passed when Blue Range was a paddock for horses. I come from a small but close family, just me and my parents. When I made the U-19 national team, it was both Saturday and Sunday training in St Paul Street. I wonder if the infrastructure, now a victim of government neglect, would be able to handle the construction and the burgeoning population. I’m from Diego, born, bred and raised…on the playground was where I spent most of my days…
