Batman games in order: Arkham & beyond in story or release order (Radio Times)

Want to play the Batman games in order? Here's how to do it, including some thoughts on Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

For more from the biggest stars in TV, listen to the [Radio Times View From My Sofa podcast](https://www.radiotimes.com/audio/podcasts/). Things that happen in the game's trailers certainly seem to play fast and loose with the ending of Arkham Knight. The makers of all the other Arkham games, Rocksteady, will release a game called Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League in 2023. If you're planning on playing all the Batman games, we'd recommend playing Gotham Knights last. The only game in this series to embrace virtual reality, Batman: Arkham VR lets you experience Detective Mode like never before. While Rocksteady Studios were behind the Arkham series, it was WB Games Montréal that took the reins for Arkham Origins - and it would be fair to say the game is not on many people's favourites list. There is a lot to love about Arkham Knight, especially the story, and it features some brilliant set pieces that remain riveting to play even the second time around. The game is quite short, clocking in at under two hours for its main story, so we wouldn't say it's essential. Leaving the asylum behind, Arkham City once again pits Bats against Joker, along with many other foes, and takes us to the streets of Gotham. This is a far bigger game than the first and one that is just as well regarded by most fans as Asylum. [Buy Arkham City from Amazon](https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=arkham+city&i=videogames&crid=18ZZH6H0K5PRU&sprefix=arkham+city%2Cvideogames%2C69&ref=nb_sb_noss_1&tag=radtim0b-21&ascsubtag=radiotimes-1755174)(prices from £14.95) Restricting the game to the confines of the titular and iconic asylum was a brilliant move that fully absorbs the player in the twisted way the place is being run under the control of Joker.

The Flash Movie Reveal May Debunk A Keaton Batman Death Theory (Screen Rant)

A new reveal from the upcoming movie The Flash debunks a big theory about Michael Keaton's Batman and what he did after Batman Returns.

More details about The Flash’s plot will be revealed as its release date approaches, and hopefully, more details about Michael Keaton’s Batman role will also be shared. Of course, these will have to be important enough for the Caped Crusader to decide to come out of retirement and put on the Batman suit and cowl again, and The Flash should also address what happened to him after Batman Returns that led him to retire. [first trailer for The Flash](https://screenrant.com/flash-movie-trailer-batman-costume-multiverse-barry-allen/) is narrated by Keaton’s Bruce Wayne but doesn’t show him at all, except for one shot following Batman as he enters the Batcave. [The Flash](https://screenrant.com/flash-movie-flashpoint-dc-comics-story-dceu-timetravel/) [ is influenced by fan-favorite storyline Flashpoint](https://screenrant.com/flash-movie-flashpoint-dc-comics-story-dceu-timetravel/), and as such, it will see Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) using his powers to travel back in time to prevent his mother’s murder. However, this has now been debunked as [merch shown at this year’s CCXP](https://screenrant.com/flash-movie-merch-keaton-batman-supergirl-multiverse-images/) event describes Keaton’s Batman in The Flash as “a retired vigilante”. The DCU is going through a lot of changes now that James Gunn and Peter Safran have become co-chairs and co-CEOs of DC Studios, but before those changes are seen in this connected universe, there are a couple of movies that will be released, among them The Flash.

Batman: 10 Lesser-Known Bat-Family Members That Deserve More ... (Screen Rant)

Stephanie Brown has more than proven her worth several times in the comics as Spoiler, Batgirl, and — in another life — Robin. Like with close friend Cassandra ...

As opposed to Kate Kane's iteration of the superhero, who is an extension of the wider Bat-family, Helena's is a more literal continuation of the mantle that Bruce started. A solo Batwoman limited series with her in the role could be quite the opportunity. She had a fairly prominent supporting role in the pre-New 52 story arc No Man's Land, serving as a compelling and rebellious wildcard character who ultimately was a champion for the people. She's a great example of LGBTQ+ representation in the Bat-family and is also Bruce Wayne's cousin on his mother's side. He's admittedly had a bit more of a presence in smaller-scale stories, but he could arguably afford more supporting roles in the mainline series and more. But aside from her elite combat prowess, she deserves more attention in the main Batman series and elsewhere for her character growth so far. Though Batwoman has certainly become more relevant in recent years since her reinvention from being a cheap love interest in the "Silver Age" of comics, she's flown under the radar again as of late. This loveable detective dog has been different breeds in different continuities across mediums (including a German Shepard, an English Mastiff, and a Great Dane in [Batman Beyond](https://screenrant.com/tag/batman-beyond/)), and a very helpful one in all of them. [superheroes were being given a trusty animal companion](https://screenrant.com/best-super-pets-dc-marvel-comics/), the World's Greatest Detective went on to adopt Ace the Bat-Hound. Both Brown and Cain were done justice in Detective Comics and now have their smaller-scale series, but that should serve as the start for a wider Bat-family presence in other stories. Like with close friend Cassandra Cain, Brown has also seen a bit of a resurgence in the comics, and rightfully so. Even so, several lesser-known members of Batman's extended family could do with more time in the limelight in the source material as well.

You Can Get Some of the Best Batman Games Ever for Super ... (Game Rant)

Seeing his performances again in the Batman: Arkham games and getting treated to one last one in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will no doubt be special to fans of the caped crusader. While one game in that series is a bit of a black sheep, as WB Games Montreal developed Arkham Origins and it replaced Kevin Conry as Batman with Roger Craig Smith, the collection as a whole is still seen as a major turning point for superhero games in the industry. He has a long history of games, but one series is often praised as revitalizing the superhero genre of video games: Rocksteady's Batman Arkham series.

The Next Batman Highlights The Problem With The Modern Day ... (Screen Rant)

As the new man taking up the Batman mantle, Jace Fox is making a name for himself while bringing all the problems Batman faces to light.

The fear Batman creates works to Bruce Wayne's benefit when he takes on the big name supervillains and crime bosses of Gotham City. In a literal sense he moves around via motorcycle, whereas Bruce usually stuck to patrolling in his car or on top of the roofs of buildings where he could survey the city. Jace adopts the name and the symbol to change the city for the better, but his outlook is a lot different from Bruce Wayne's original take. Although he takes the name, the other members of the Bat-Family are unaware of him and his work, and he has to adapt in order to do some good. After he was portrayed as the Next Batman in the possible future seen in the Future State, the series I Am Batman saw Jace taking on the Batman mantle in the mainstream DC Universe during an intense time for Gotham City. By putting a new spin on what the title means, Jace has made history already and proved just how worthy he is for the title.

Batman fell off the moon, landed at Superman's house, and is mad ... (Polygon)

Batman falls through the upper atmosphere, his suit beginning to burn, thinking “Cape Image: Chip Zdarsky, Jorge Jimenez/DC Comics. How did Batman make it ...

It’s an odd illusion, given that I’m very familiar with some of these characters — Metamorpho, Warlord, and Doctor Fate, for example — but the overall experience reminds me most powerfully of something like Top Ten or Watchmen or even an old Wildstorm book. Because I did. The core conceit of this series — Jean Grey and Peter Parker’s embittered clones teaming up to make things worse — is obscure but the series itself feels like it knows how ridiculous it is. Batman's Planetary Free Fall to Earth Had to (Kind of) Make ... (CBR)

Batman writer Chip Zdarsky explains how Bruce Wayne's free fall from the moon to Earth had to make at least some level of scientific sense.

This is the opposite of Batman falling from the moon. This is him in the gutters, in the streets, fighting a hopelessness that has its hooks into Gotham. Then I'll give a bunch of interviews about how comics were better back in my day." "I always had the idea that Batman would be on the run a bit, and I had the phrase 'from the depths of the ocean to the height of the moon' in my head," he explained. It's ludicrous and fun, and Jorge [Jiménez] drew the hell out of it." A lot of talk about g-force, the frictionless nature of outer space, the heat resistance of a top-notch batsuit -- the math of it all.
