Joy Bauer's Holiday Spread Includes 2 Veggie-Packed Dips (Today.com)

Dip, dip, hooray, it's the holidays! Adorn your spread with these two next-level dips.

It’s creamy and indulgent and loaded with nutrition thanks to spinach and artichokes. As tempting as it might be, don't rush the onion-caramelization process — when cooked down to sweet perfection, they add incredible depth and deliciousness to the dip (which wouldn't be the same without 'em). It comes together in a single casserole dish (or oven-safe skillet) and goes from oven to table in 35 minutes flat.

Rev. Ron Moore Jr.: This joy that I have — Part four (State-Journal.com)

In the spirit realm, strength is needed to maintain the victory that the Lord Jesus Christ has achieved for us. Notice that I used the word maintain and not ...

If he can get to your joy, he can undermine the strength that God has placed on the inside of you. This joy gave David the strength for battle and to recover all that the enemy had stolen. I bet the Lord reminded him of time he was watching the sheep and a lion attempted to steal one for dinner. However, the Bible tells us that David encouraged himself in the Lord. is the associate minister at First Corinthian Baptist Church in Frankfort. Have you ever cried so much that you didn’t have the strength to cry anymore? "So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives. In the spirit realm, strength is needed to maintain the victory that the Lord Jesus Christ has achieved for us. Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep." The Bible warns us about trusting in feelings. Faith always celebrates during the trial. Read the first part

Stephanie Silverman, Executive Director of The Belcourt Theater, joined Marketplace's Kai Ryssdal to chat about how the cinema is faring lately. A transcript of ...

And I hope there are some lessons learned from this year like the surprise success of a film like “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” is moving filmmakers to take some risks in the movies that they’re funding and that they’re getting made. And I guess I just demonstrated that I kind of am too, but are you financially back from the pandemic? For just $5/month, you can help sustain Marketplace so we can keep reporting on the things that matter to you. It could have done weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks in a theater and built much more notoriety, much more fan recognition. Like it’s not brain surgery, because people are looking for a little bit of joy and just a little bit of added experience to their movie going life. Where are you on the whole streaming versus put it on the big screen? So, especially for the more challenging movies that are kind of our bread and butter, having them in the theater first, having us have an advertising relationship with that film, an audience building relationship in our market, it makes a difference for the long term health of the film once it hits those streaming platforms. I hope next year there are more movies, there are more opportunities to really have some hits. And we have a long tradition of of showing it. But, you know, like, it really just speaks to tradition and that shared experience with the big screen and people just love it. A transcript of their conversation is below and has been edited for clarity. Stephanie Silverman: Yeah, I mean, we’re still not back to 100%.

Dan Snyder 'jumped for joy' when Commanders traded for Carson ... (Redskins Wire)

Since Daniel Snyder bought the Washington franchise in 1999, he's always been front and center when it involved the quarterback position.

Regardless, the trade hasn’t quite worked out for Washington, but not all due to Wentz. Went to dinner with Carson Wentz and his wife to welcome him to D.C., at our home. This was a good move, but considering Washington had to trade for Smith after only receiving a third-round compensatory pick for Cousins was beyond disappointing. McNabb was benched for veteran Rex Grossman in his only season with Washington. 2 and select the 2011 Heisman Trophy winner despite Shanahan’s hesitance. In 2010, after hiring two-time Super Bowl-winning coach Mike Shanahan, Snyder engineered a trade for past-his-prime Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb.

Practice the discipline of joy (Hickory Daily Record)

Weeping stays for the night, but joy comes in the morning. – Psalm 30:5. Those who observe the Christian liturgical season of Advent as a time of penitence ...

As we continue to move through this season of long nights and wearied waiting, may we also practice the discipline of joy. Even in the darkest, longest night, we wait for the joyous light of morning. I grew up in a home where all of the candles on the wreath were a deep blue color while the one in the middle was white. Typically, Advent wreaths have four candles placed in a circle with one in the middle. In some traditions — especially in the Orthodox Church — Advent is marked with fasting, charity, and prayer. In the Western Church we mark the days with extra services, calendars of daily readings or activities, and the lighting of an Advent wreath.
