Described by those involved in its construction as one of the finest skate parks of its kind in Ireland, elected representatives and council officials are hopeful that it will be worth the wait. The park will be opened by Mayor of Wexford Maura Bell on Tuesday, November 1, at 12.30 p.m., meaning that it will be open and operational in time for the school mid-term break. Last week Wexford County Council issued an appeal to young skaters to stay away from the skate park, said to have cost in excess of €300,000, until construction was fully completed and it was officially opened.
