All four actors returned for Deadpool 2 in 2018, along with a new cast of characters led by Josh Brolin as the cybernetically enhanced Cable and Julian Dennison as the young mutant Firefist. The Deadpool films were a spin-off of 20th Century Fox’s X-Men franchise, following the infamous “merc with a mouth” Wade Wilson (Reynolds) after he develops the mutant ability to regenerate his body after suffering severe burns.
