Axl's head now looks a lot sharper in the scene, but as you can see in the tweet above, along with its replies, many people don't appear to think that necessarily makes it better. More importantly, it reveals that Zeus actually taught Thor how to summon Thunderbolt himself, making Zeus crucial to Thor Odinson and Mighty Thor's victory over Gorr the God Butcher. Of course, the eccentric auteur clearly had a lot of say from a creative stand point, as to what he wanted his film to be, but the fact of the matter is the script wasn’t his baby. Portman does a serviceable job in her role but the way in which the character is written and her cringeworthy dialogue, is just annoying to say the least. So, when it was announced that Portman would show up as Mighty Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder, I knew it was Feige & co. Waititi seems to have conveniently chucked that portion of the character arc out of the window, that’s for sure. Thor Odinson (Chris Hemsworth), meanwhile has embarked on a personal quest of self-discovery, occasionally engaging in feats of badassery with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Now that I’ve watched Thor: Love and Thunder, however, my opinion has been swayed somewhat and certainly not for the better.

Jane Foster's ending in Thor: Love and Thunder presented Marvel with an opportunity for a fitting Lady Sif callback, but the movie passed it up.

But he’s now become the jock you could never hate, the guy who always gets the boy or girl he wants (and Herc wants most boys and girls he encounters), but isn’t a jerk about it. When writer Al Ewing added Herc to his lineup of [The Guardians of the Galaxy](https://www.denofgeek.com/guardians-of-the-galaxy/), he added a softer side to the character, as evidenced by his tender romance with hot-headed Kree warrior Noh-Varr. He’s still far from the smartest guy in the room, and he still refuses to back down from a fight. He sends them a god in the form of a hero with his son, Hercules, played by [Ted Lasso](https://www.denofgeek.com/ted-lasso/)’s Brett Goldstein. Hercules is best known for his twelve labors, challenges that range from the fantastical (slaying a hydra and a terrible lion) to the mundane (cleaning a stable with 3000 cattle) to the not-so-comfortable (stealing the girdle of Hippolyta). Hercules really came into his own under writers Greg Pak and Fred Van Lente, when the series [final post-credit scene of Thor: Love and Thunder](https://www.denofgeek.com/movies/thor-love-and-thunder-post-credits-scenes-explained/), a humiliated Zeus (Russell Crowe) plots his revenge against Thor and the other superheroes who take the worship due to gods.
