"I told the players at half-time that the game is there for the taking and if we play with more courage we win the game. "The game was there for the taking. We haven't won it because we lacked some discipline in some moments and we weren't ruthless enough in front of goal. "We are happy and satisfied with the win, also the performance against a really good team. A debut goal from Antony and two from Marcus Rashford gave Manchester United a stirring victory over Arsenal in an excellent game.
“For me it’s been a tremendously absorbing, combative game of football - VAR played a small role and rightly ruled it a foul. It could be any of the attacking-midfield three – Sancho and Fernandes have been quiet, and Antony might not be able to do a full 90 minutes. He moved to the edge of the area and hit a low shot that deflected off the sliding White and bounced over Ramsdale. Rashford will move to the left and Sancho to the right. “Paul Tierney clearly saw the action and did not consider it a foul. 82 min Man Utd now have five central midfielders on the pitch, though Eriksen and Fernandes are playing from the wings. 90+1 min The corner is headed away and United break, but Eriksen’s long pass towards Fred is intercepted. They still played very well, particularly Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka, and they are still top of the league. United are still miles away from challenging for the title, but four wins out of four is an admirable response to that Brentford fiasco. It’s something to build on and we’re looking forward to the next game. We have to work to get more control of the game. The same in possession – a little bit more composure and we can dictate the game even more.

Arsenal came out in the second period with a point to prove, creating a handful of opportunities and dominating from the off. He's the first United player to score on his debut since Donny van de Beek in 2020. MANCHESTER UNITED legend Gary Neville has given his verdict on the Premier League top four this season.
United face a trip to Crystal Palace next in the Premier League on Sunday, while Arsenal host struggling Everton at the Emirates. I think United will struggle to get into the top four personally. Fifth wouldn’t be a terrible result for Manchester United and Erik ten Hag from where they were." I just think the other two are slightly better. Arsenal sit top of the table ahead of Manchester City and Tottenham. Liverpool could’ve equalised and Arsenal were good for large parts.
Gabriel Martinelli: He may well have been frustrated when his first-half goal was ruled out by VAR, but this was another excellent performance from Martinelli.
There was contact between Martin Odegaard and Christian Eriksen, but it's hard for there not to be when two players are challenging for the ball in the middle of the pitch. He wasn't awful by any means, but there's no doubt he struggled at times to control things at the base of the Arsenal midfield. Gabriel has a habit of diving in when he shouldn't and he did exactly that late on in the first half when he decided to lunge at Bruno Fernandes.
Manchester United ended Arsenal's unbeaten start to the season at Old Trafford with Antony and a brace from Rashford on target for the Red Devils.
Smith-Rowe and Odegaard were on target for the visitors "Unfortunately in the last 72 hours Thomas and Mo got injured and we had to react in the market. Martinez clips Gabriel Jesus with the Brazilian looking to score against United for the first time in his career. Despite the goal not standing, it has seen Arsenal grow in confidence and start to take the game to United now. Bruno Fernandes gets clipped by Lokonga and the Arsenal man is lucky to escape with no card. What a start for the young Brazilian! Antony bags the opener on his debut... Couple of decent touches and a few cheeky step-overs from the Brazilian and that's your lot ! what can Arsenal do as the North Londonders start the second half Odegaard has to do better there as the Norwegian miscues with the goal beckoning. the ball falls to Saka and the England international rolls the ball into the net Arsenal still looking for more as they continue their assault on the United goal.
