On the UFC Paris prelims, Abusupiyan Magomedov quickly stopped Dustin Stoltzfus in 19 seconds, and Benoit Saint-Denis stormed the castle of Gabriel Miranda.

After a bit of control, Egger locked up a rear-naked choke and was able to force the tap. She was connecting with punches to the face and kicks to the body, but Egger managed to clinch up. He was attacking to both the head and the body. Saint-Denis went back to the spinning elbow and connected better than the first time, and then scored himself a takedown. With seconds to go, Saint-Denis dropped Miranda with some more heavy leather, and dropped some vicious hammerfists to close out the electric round. The kick count was still in favor of Makdessi, but they didn’t appear to be that effective as Haqparast seemed to do a solid job of defending them. Miranda connected with clean trio of right hands, and Saint-Denis responded with a spinning elbow. Stoltzfus was wobbled, and then magomedov pounced on him with a barrage of punches to drop him. The second round began and Saint-Denis swarmed Miranda with fists of fury to drop him again, and then pounded him out to the crowd’s delight. Makdessi was probing with kicks, while Haqparast was looking to build off of his jab with his left hand. Makdessi recovered quickly, and then pushed the pace in the third, but Haqparast managed the urgency to walk away with the decision. Magomedov opened up the fight with a stellar front kick to the face!

Whittaker continues to nip at the heels of UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.

Ciryl Gane overcame a second-round knockdown and rallied to finish Tai Tuivasa in Round 3 on Saturday in the UFC's first card in France.

Gane landed several hard jabs, a body kick and then a head kick. Gane was clearly hurt, and Tuivasa went in for the finish, but Gane survived. Then, a head kick near the end of the round. Gane landed a knee to the body, a jab and a step-in knee to the gut. That strategy was working well until Tuivasa caught Gane with a right hook in the second round, dropping him to the canvas. Tuivasa dropped Gane in the second round.

The scenes in Paris for the UFC's first event in France were astounding. Here are the takeaways from a big night for Gane, Whittaker and the City of Lights.

The crowd roared during his walkout and the loudest it was all night (up to that point) was the first round, cheering Gane's name and singing the French national anthem in unison. Errens cracked with a big right cross to the body, but failed to follow it up with anything. Wood let Jourdain up this time, and the fighters labored away in the clinch and in the pocket. Jourdain got right in the face of Wood, who was willing to instantly start trading. It was quite the effort from Buckley, but he wasn’t able to come up with the finish he needed. Di Chirico started the final round with a slick combination that seemed to catch Kopylov by surprise. Gomis instantly stood up and stayed attached in the clinch, and although Errens hit a toss, he still ended up on the bottom. Imavov continued to be the aggressor to begin the seocnd stanza. Buckley shot in for a takedown, but Imavov stuffed it and went right to full mount. Di Chirico was looking to counter punch and catch Kopylov coming forward, and mixed in some head kick attempts. Vettori went back to pressing the action in the final frame. The middleweights got busy right away, with Whittaker chopping away at the legs, and Vettori flurrying forward with punches. This fight was pretty cool with the bulk of it taking place in either the clinch, or the phone booth.

The UFC heavyweight champ quickly admitted Ciryl Gane looked great but said it's difficult to be too impressed with someone he already beat.
