2022 preseason All-AFC South Team: Matt Ryan-led Colts dominate ... (CBSSports.com)

Over the next two weeks, we will unveil our preseason All-Division teams, as is our annual tradition around this time of year. As always, the rosters were ...

I asked our resident kicking expert (John Breech) who he thinks are the best kickers and punters in each division, and copy/pasted those names onto each All-Division team. Simmons began fulfilling his potential last regular season, then exploded in Tennessee's playoff loss to the [Bengals](https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/teams/CIN/cincinnati-bengals/). [Carson Wentz](/nfl/players/1907522/carson-wentz/), should continue to progress as a No. [AFC East](https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2022-preseason-all-afc-east-team-josh-allen-leads-13-representatives-from-loaded-bills-roster/) and continued Wednesday with the [AFC North](https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2022-preseason-all-afc-north-team-joe-burrow-edges-out-lamar-jackson-defenses-loaded-with-talent/). Moore is one of the most underrated players in the NFL, and one of the most consistently good slot corners in the league over the past few seasons. [Aaron Donald](/nfl/players/1737460/aaron-donald/), Buckner would be a much more well-known player. With [Davis Mills](/nfl/players/2867381/davis-mills/) under center all season, he has a good shot to get there again. Cunningham played quite well after arriving in Tennessee following a trade from the Barring a significant step forward from [Trevor Lawrence](/nfl/players/2967185/trevor-lawrence/) or [Ryan Tannehill](/nfl/players/1273654/ryan-tannehill/) somehow rediscovering his elite efficiency despite no longer having [A.J. Scherff's contract is a bit expensive for a player with his health history, but when he's on the field, he's one of the NFL's best guards. Tunsil's monster contract overstates the degree to which he is actually one of the league's very top tackles, but he's a damn good one, and there's no reason to expect a decline in his age-28 season, so long as he remains healthier than he did a year ago. but he still makes this team because he's just that good, and the rest of the division is that bad.

Postcards From Camp: Why Matt Ryan Felt Colts Had Good ... (Colts.com)

The Colts held their final practice of training camp on Thursday at Grand Park, which was more of a jog-through practice – but those days are part of why ...

But excited about the progress we made, the boxes that we checked during training camp and ready to go to work." That's the expectation we have to have for ourselves to be ready, to go down there to Houston, play our best football and find a way to get a win." - Reich summed up training camp after Thursday's practice: "I was talking to a group of volunteers last night, Chris Ballard and I just went over to an event just to thank our volunteers and one of the things I shared was how excited we all were – players and coaches – to get here to training camp, but how equally excited we are to leave training camp, right? I think it's a credit to Frank (Reich) and the culture that he and Chris (Ballard) have created here and the guys that they've brought in. "We have an understanding of where we want to go, but the only way you get there is to attack week after week," Ryan said. "I think the attention to detail, the focus has been good," Ryan said.

Insider: Why Matt Ryan can take the Colts RPO game to another level (The Indianapolis Star)

The Colts felt they left too many big plays on the board in the RPO game last year, and Ryan's accuracy might convert more of those chances.

“Or be as dynamic as we want to be, and really go in a lot of different directions.” “You know, we had some near misses, whether it was accuracy, whether it was timing with routes and accuracy, but we had some big plays that we left out there,” Montgomery said. “We should have an opportunity to go be great at it because of him.” “You’ve got to have a quick mind, make good decisions and then be accurate with the ball, because it’s a short throw, there’s usually going to be a small window and you’ve got to get it out quick,” Reich said. “If you watch some of the throws in his run-action pass game, they translate,” Montgomery said. Under Reich and Montgomery, the coaching staff’s resident expert on the RPO world, the Colts have made them a staple of their offensive diet. “I ran the triple option in high school,” Ryan said with a laugh. “You’re basically giving them a playbook with maybe three to four plays in it per RPO,” running backs coach Scottie Montgomery said. Play in that many systems, and a quarterback learns to be comfortable in almost any scheme, any style of play. In another type, an advantage RPO, the quarterback makes his decision before the snap based on the number of defenders at the point of attack. In one type of RPO, the quarterback reads the actions of a single defender and either hands it off to the running back or pulls the ball out of the back’s arms and fires it quickly to an open receiver. “’I like it, and I’m looking forward to getting a feel for it.’”

Who was the Colts best offseason acquisition: Matt Ryan, Yannick ... (Horseshoe Heroes)

The Indianapolis Colts added big names this offseason with Matt Ryan, Yannick Ngakoue, and Stephon Gilmore but which was the best acquisition?

Highlighting how much the Colts struggled to get after the quarterback last season, Ballentine contrasted that with Ngakoue’s consistency in rushing the passer. Ngakoue, however, is the best move because he’s guaranteed to improve the pass rush for Indianapolis. [Indianapolis Colts](https://horseshoeheroes.com/) were determined to bring in the necessary pieces to get better.
