After racing on the final day of the Land Union September, the class winners for the Royal Southern Summer Series will be announced. After the first day of racing, sailors return to find Den's Deck at the Royal Southern Clubhouse transformed into Oktoberfest with complimentary German Beer and Sausage supper. "The Club has planned for a big event with around 80 boats racing and joining us for the party ashore.

2022 Star Island Gosport Regatta to set sail from Portsmouth Harbor (Seacoastonline.com)

The public can watch from M/V Thomas Laighton as it follows the open ocean sailing race, which raises funds for two nonprofit organizations.

The Gosport Regatta has a rich history with the first race held back in 1874. Upon arrival at Star Island, post-race events will include an awards ceremony honoring the regatta participants, live music, a kite festival, non-alcoholic refreshments, and a casual cookout meal. ISLES OF SHOALS — The 2022 Star Island Gosport Regatta will take place Sunday, Sept. 18.
