“I’ve found that having a simple tool to manage your time effectively in a start-up is one of the most important pieces of technology you can implement. It also allows us to securely store and version documents in a manner in line with our clients expectations.” If we were having to email or share them using traditional methods it would give us nightmares,” she said. The ability to set out what needs to be achieved and structure how we reach our target is key,” he said. It is an online whiteboard that is excellent for workers who like to see their projects laid out visually. According to stereotypes, a good start-up is scrappy and runs on enthusiasm, long hours and caffeinated drinks.

Zoom IQ provides more intelligence for sales teams (TechTarget)

Zoom has added information from phone calls and Microsoft Dynamics 365 to IQ for Sales.

Mike Gleason is a reporter covering unified communications and collaboration tools. For example, an upcoming update of Zoom Contact Center will help companies learn more about the common problems customers face. IQ for Sales already works with Salesforce's CRM. IQ for Sales, released last week, analyzes phone calls and other data helpful in honing sales pitches. The software transcribes and reviews sales conversations to flag action items based on customers' questions and how often they mention a competitor. The IQ for Sales and Dynamics 365 integration lets the former pull data from the CRM software and combine it with information from video and phone calls to add context.

Are NBA teams relying on more self-created shots? (BasketballNews.com)

Ethan Fuller analyzes how the NBA's shot trends have changed in the last decade.

The NBA league average frequency for self-created shots was 43.08% in 2013-14. The renowned ball movement that typifies this dynasty shows up again in the data: Firstly, it shows that even with that aforementioned rise in efficiency on drives, the NBA on the whole hasn't been as successful in its self-creation rise. NBA teams are driving to the basket more than ever in recorded history. Basketball players who can create advantages off the dribble are more valuable in today's NBA ecosystem than ever before. What is changing about the NBA that could cause such a rise? It's not necessarily iso-ball — two seconds isn't that long — but it encompasses all the settings where a player has to beat some level of defense to shoot. Players in the NBA put up 82,558 self-created attempts in 2013-14 and 101,551 last season. The above chart illustrates how the NBA's self-creation frequency steadily rose to a high of 48.42% in 2019-20 (more than 42.5 self-created attempts per team, per game) before shrinking back slightly. In 2022, the three-point revolution is old news, and offenses are humming at some of their most energetic paces in league history. It's an 18,993-shot difference, meaning the audience is watching about 15.4 more self-created shots per contest throughout an NBA game. That's a little over 4% more than their self-creation attempt rate from 2013-14, when the league first introduced this type of tracking data.

The Most Disappointing CDL Teams This Year (The Game Haus)

While researching for this article, I discovered a fact I couldn't believe. The Minnesota Rokkr earned less in winnings than the Paris Legion this season.

This team, especially on LAN can beat any team in the game if they show up in their best form. Placings at tournaments began to fall, and people turned their backs on OpTic. Everyone considered OpTic to be an unstoppable team after their championship run at Major 1 and the community didn’t expect them to slow down. Along with that, their downfall costed them their spot at Champs. Besides Dillon “Attach” Price their team has failed to live up to expectations. The Minnesota Rokkr earned less in winnings than the Paris Legion this season. For the past three years, the Paris Legion have shown that they are okay with putting up mediocre results.

Madison CARES teams prove beneficial in first year of service (WMTV - NBC15)

A new approach to responding to mental health emergencies in the City of Madison is proving beneficial for both patients and first responders.

This will allow CARES to take more calls and better cover the city’s west and south sides. That alone, no matter how good a police officer is at their job, can cause the person to maybe escalate their situation a little bit,” explained Stedman. The teams stay for an average of 60 minutes on each call, to not only care for that person in the moment, but to facilitate long-term treatment options. Early data shows the CARES team’s approach is working. “Every crisis is different and unique. These teams handle non-violent behavioral health calls made to 911, rather than sending police officers.

NJ schools must create threat assessment teams this fall under new ... (NorthJersey.com)

A new law signed Monday by Gov. Phil Murphy requires all New Jersey public school districts to create threat assessment teams starting in September.

School security measures were heightened using equipment such as cameras in New Jersey and nationally, following the Columbine school shooting in Colorado in April 1999. Members of the teams will have to undergo training on childhood trauma, implicit bias, and "adverse childhood experiences," according to the law. For students who receive special services or have Individualized Education Plans due to learning disabilities, the team will be required to consult with the staff assigned to them.

What's new in Microsoft Teams: Polls updates and more (ZDNet)

Microsoft Teams in July got a new Polls app for running surveys and updates to Teams on the iPad.

The app bar and canvas automatically align based on the screen size available to the Teams app. The Polls user interface allows users to re-position the list of suggested polls from the bottom to the side of the pane. Now, Teams on the iPad is more able to adjust automatically to size, app orientation, and display modes. Now you'll add a new app called Polls as an option for your meeting tab. Previously, poll creators had to make a new one from scratch each time. It also provides a doorway to the polls portal page where users can show or hide them in the side pane.

We only gave you a rundown of some of the key changes that made it to Microsoft Teams in July through this post, however, there are plenty of other updates and features that made it to the platform such as security, complicance, and privacy that we did not touch on. And not only that, users will now be able to hear call recording announcements using the set default language for Teams calls to or from a phone number. First up, in July, we saw the integration between Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Forms that led to the introduction of new features as well as enhancements to the existing features within Teams meeting polls. Aside from that, users will have access to a list that highlights their recent polls, this way they will be able to re-use these polls in new meetings which in turn helps them save time. Here are Chiefs players that Dave Toub expects to contribute on ... (Chiefs Wire)

Chiefs ST coordinator Dave Toub has much control over the bottom of the 53-man roster. We look at some of the players he currently likes.

“Bush is a guy that’s in there for that.” “(Daurice) Fountain is a guy that we’re going to rely on,” Toub said. Right now, Toub says he’s vying for the spot previously occupied by Armani Watts, who played over 65% of the team’s special teams snaps last season. “(Isiah Pacheco) is going to be the guy on kickoff returns,” Toub said. Toub says special teams will again play a big role in who does and doesn’t make the team at that position. “(Bryan) Cook is doing a good job as a cover guy,” Toub said. Gray was a four-phase guy for us (last season), so we’re counting on him to be a guy for sure. Then Fountain . . . he’s a guy that played a lot of downs for us. The Washington game is going to be huge for us. With Mecole Hardman primed for a bigger role on offense, they really need a player like Pacheco to step up and earn the kick returner job. The Bears game is going to be huge for us. Four of the team’s top five players in terms of total special teams snaps from last season are no longer on the team.

Microsoft Teams will now translate your calls — with a catch (Digital Trends)

Microsoft Teams just added a feature that will make remote work easier -- human language translation that lets you pick the language you're listening to.

The local government started using Teams in early 2020, and prior to this, it had to hire interpreters to attend meetings in person. Through this new solution, designated interpreters will be allowed to translate during a Teams meeting, and the people who attend it will be able to pick which language they want to listen to. The new feature will make it easier for organizations and government bodies to host meetings in multiple languages.
