Mask was the 1978 state champion in both shotput and discus for Sexton High School and was a three year recipient of their All-Sports Varsity Award.

"Getting children who have interest involved in sports who are in foster homes, as an outlet for them to feel confident about themselves and their efforts," Mask said. Mask said she owes a lot of her interest and success in athletics to the staff at the school. "The staff there kept me motivated and sports gave me an incredible outlet," Mask said.

If I show up for the interview wearing a mask and tell them I will wear one in the office, will it hurt my chances of getting the job? Employers have the right to say that they don’t want employees to wear a mask, just as much as they have the right to require one, provided that their policies are not in violation of the law.
