First Poster For Chris Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' Arrives Right On Time (Forbes)

Nolan has been doing such things at least since he debuted the bank robbery prologue of The Dark Knight with IMAX prints of I Am Legend in December of 2007.

I’m guessing it’s very much somewhere in the middle of those two extremes. Anyway, I’ll save a history of long-lead marketing for if we get a teaser trailer tonight. Ditto Dark Knight Rises (teaser with Harry Potter 8 in July, trailer with Sherlock Holmes 2 and Mission: Impossible 4 in December). I have mixed feelings about what did or didn’t happen two years ago in terms of Tenet’s theatrical release. We got that announcement teaser for The Dark Knight in July of 2007 with the opening night of The Simpsons and then mostly radio silence (online/viral mystery marketing notwithstanding) until the trailer and IMAX prologue in December of 2007, just seven months from the film’s July 18, 2008 release. I have no idea (and wouldn’t tell you if I did) as to whether audiences showing up to Nope this evening will get an announcement teaser for Chris Nolan’s Oppenheimer, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

'The World Forever Changes' On The First Oppenheimer Poster (Game Rant)

Oppenheimer receives its first poster, teasing the newest film from legendary director Christopher Nolan and actor Cillian Murphy.

The 77th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima is on August 5th. Based on this poster, which shows the brilliant scientist engulfed in the destructive force of his own creation, and the tagline that focuses on the effects of his creation, it seems likely that the film’s plot will focus on Oppenheimer’s regret over the role he played in creating the atomic bomb. The poster was Tweeted by the official Oppenheimer account.

First Oppenheimer Teaser Shown Ahead of Nope - IGN (IGN)

Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer just got its first teaser trailer, debuting exclusively in theaters ahead of Jordan Peele's new sci-fi horror flick, Nope.

As the film’s title appears on screen, Lewis Strauss (Robert Downey Jr.) can be heard saying: “The man who moved the Earth” which is presumably a reference to Oppenheimer himself. Code name Trinity, this test was of an implosion-design nuclear device, nicknamed “The Gadget”… the same design as the Fat Man that was eventually detonated over Nagasaki on August 9, 1945. Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy) is then seen on screen, briefly, as footage of fire and smoke are intercut between black and white footage of the man himself.

It's unclear when this trailer or a longer trailer will be released online, but a poster for Oppenheimer was released earlier this week. The words "THE WORLD FOREVER CHANGES" with the countdown next to it before it hits zero and the screen fades completely to black. An arresting image of fire completely engulfs the screen before cutting back to yet another black and white shot of Oppenheimer walking down a crowded corridor while people take pictures of him. Images of bright orange fire begin to swirl on screen, the rhythm intensifies, the countdown adds a "seconds" column which begins to rapidly descend before revealing a black and white shot of Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer donning the aforementioned hat while staring out a window. The trailer opens with a slow, rising rhythm and ash rising on a black screen. A black and white image of a fedora resting on a table fades in with a countdown that says "11 months, 24 days, 15 hours, 29 minutes" before a man starts speaking.
