Some MultiVersus Players Aren't Happy with Early Access (Game Rant)

From microtransactions that add up to hundreds of dollars to game-breaking bugs, MultiVersus' early access hasn't had the best of starts.

As mentioned, the problems with the Syncing Account Screen have reportedly been fixed as of the time of writing, and the issue regarding inaccessible Founders Pack items has been solved as well. Considering the MultiVersus beta will supposedly act as a soft launch of the game, some fans are worried that the game will need more fixes than had first been anticipated. These players were granted beta access a week before everyone else, and while getting on MultiVersus early may sound like a good idea, some aren't happy with the game in its current state.

Most of the Perks on a given fighter's Character Mastery bar are designed to accommodate the fighting style that character was designed for. This gives the character access to all of the Perks that are found on other fighter's Character Mastery pages. In addition to all of the character-specific abilities that each fighter will have in the game, players will also be able to assign up to four Perks to each character. A fully leveled character will have access to two Signature Perks, one which is unlocked at level eight and another which is unlocked at level ten. Each character can equip one Signature Perk, which are unique abilities that are only available to them, and three universal Perks which are available to all characters. The game's massive character roster that pulls from numerous Warner Brothers properties, its fun battle animations, its focus on team-oriented fighting, and some pretty unique looking combat mechanics have all helped set it apart – not to mention the fact that it will be both free-to-play and cross-play.

When you enter MultiVersus again a moment later, it (should) have resolved and allowed you to continue. As this happens, another Wonder Woman will bash you up into the air, and you're supposed to control the knockback influence to avoid yourself getting sent up and out of the screen, as influence allows players to control their trajectory (to some degree) when knocked back. If you can't beat the MultiVersus knockback tutorial, there's a good reason for that - it's glitched, as mentioned.

MultiVersus: How to Get Early Access to the Open Beta (Comicbook.com)

It's drawn comparisons to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, naturally, but given the reception to it so far, it's already starting to set itself apart in some ways.

According to calculations done by Chris Scullion of VGC, it could cost "MultiVersus" players upwards of 30,000 Gleamium — which costs about $255 (USD) — for them to unlock every cosmetic available in the game when only accounting for unlocks But how much money will players have to part with to unlock everything the game has to offer? But, eing a free-to-play title, "MultiVersus" will undoubtedly have its share of microtransactions in order for the game to eventually turn a profit.

"But the prices for non-Battle Pass cosmetics are really rough. These prices are for the individual "Founder's Pack" editions of the game. The same holds true for MultiVersus. MultiVersus: How to Unlock More Characters (Game Rant)

Multiversus gives players a variety of characters from various Warner Bros properties to pick from, though not all of them are unlocked at the start.

The Deluxe version is $60 and features 20 Character Unlock Tokens, 1,000 Gleamium, 1 Premium Battle Pass unlock as well as epic level cosmetics. In fact, Player First Games is using this open beta session as a soft launch for Multiversus as the studio isn't planning to change much of its core gameplay mechanics ahead of a full launch later this year. The closed alpha also showed off cosmetic and customization options earned from in-game currency as well as a battle pass, which follows suit for most free to play games.

Velma Might Be The Best Character In MultiVersus, WB's Smash ... (Kotaku)

The early-access open beta for the free-to-play brawler is underway, and it already has an unexpected standout.

That said, it takes a while to collect the needed evidence to make that call. Even with her limitations, Velma is that chick. One of the things that makes her stand out is the level of support provided and overall strength of her various abilities. The only drawback being cooldown timers that prevents Velma from spamming the better parts of her arsenal. Velma is one of the best characters in the game by a huge margin. Expect her to be rushed from the start. Seeing someone get scooped up and carried off the stage is as comical as it is effective. Velma is a force to be reckoned with in the right hands. By rapidly tapping the attack button you can send out her Supportive Words projectiles that seek out targeted friends and foes. If it lands on an ally, they’ll not only be healed but send out a stronger version of the beam. Synergizing one’s abilities with that of a partner to overcome the opposition. Derived from YouTuber Midya’s edit of an episode from Scooby-Doo! Legend of the Phantosaur—where a hypnotized Shaggy single handedly defeats a biker gang—it was a viral hit that some felt culminated in the creation of WB’s free-to-play brawler.

How to toast another player in MultiVersus (Upcomer)

Players can obtain and give out toast in MultiVersus to show good sportsmanship and complete one of the starter missions.

Players have to complete all of the starter missions before they can start working on the battle pass, so it is in every player’s best interest to learn how to toast as quickly as possible. There, they will have the option to give toast to the opponent by clicking a button above the opponent’s character. Players will not actually have the option to toast someone else after a single game in MultiVersus. Rather, they will have to play out a full best-of-three set.

MultiVersus Progression and Rewards Shown in New Trailer (Game Rant)

The latest trailer for the free-to-play fighting game MultiVersus breaks down its respective progression and monetization systems.

In the end, MultiVersus offers a unique mix of progression systems and rewards, including both free content and premium options. The first is by purchasing a Founder's Pack, which can include Character Tickets. The second is with Gold, which cost between 1,500 and 3,000 at the moment. Perhaps the most important system in MultiVersus, and perhaps the most controversial, is its character unlock system. MultiVersus also has a monetized progression track, too. It starts with the player's own Career level, with experience earned per match and rewards being a simple 100 Gold per level. The excitement surrounding the fighting game continues to build, but many potential MultiVersus players are still unclear about how the free-to-play title's progression and monetization systems work.

Iron Giant Proves Multiversus Isn't Just A Smash Clone (TheGamer)

Smash would never have a character as game-breaking as the Iron Giant. multiversus iron giant. Multiversus, which officially launched today ...

Multiversus director Tony Huynh has said that designing Iron Giant took the team three times longer than every other character, and that he has opened up some doors for even more new characters. He’s so big that he almost doesn’t fit in the gaps at the bottom of the Scooby’s Haunted Mansion. In the Batcave, he engages the fire trail from his rocket boots and completely covers the stage from end to end. The Iron Giant is developer Play First Games putting its big iron balls on the table and saying ‘Multiversus will not be defined by bros that smashed before us.’ Iron Giant tells us to take our expectations and chuck them out the window, because Multiversus is doing its own thing, and it’s not afraid to take some big risks. He’s so big that in most multi-level stages he can stand on the bottom floor and get his head punched on the top floor. Small characters like Jake the Dog and Tom & Jerry barely come up to Iron Giant’s shin, while the biggest character, Superman, barely comes up to his waist. Take one look at the scale of the Iron Giant and it's immediately obvious that this should not, and cannot work.
