SAINTS half back Jonny Lomax is still very much in the World Cup plans of England boss Shaun Wane despite currently playing with a ruptured bicep.

This, however, was not to be Col. Redman’s fate — thanks to the efforts of a great-great-great-grandson with an interest in genealogy. That event featured comments by Retired Col. Gary Miller, USMC, who spoke on the sacrifice of those who served the nation’s military. “He asked if I could help get a stone for Col. Redman’s grave and we then contacted the Veteran’s Administration.” Rowley’s group then organized volunteers from two states to install the marker and to celebrate its placement at Freeland Cemetery. But Col. Redman’s story did not end there because long after the battle, the promise of a new life on the Western Frontier proved irresistible. Following that battle, Redman was promoted to colonel.
