Utility And Biomass Company Ask Hawaii Commission To ... (Honolulu Civil Beat)

And if the utility were required to purchase power from Hu Honua for three decades, it would displace lower-cost renewable sources of energy. Commissioner Leo Asuncion dissented, saying the evidence clearly establishes that Hu Honua has met its burden of proof. By determining that Hu Honua must be carbon negative, the commission established a new legal standard for greenhouse gas emissions beyond the scope of applicable law applied to other projects, and the decision contains factual errors, among other shortcomings.

But now it has reverted to: “There’s one more bite on your plate, then you can have this.” She stormed away and avoided him for the rest of the event. Three weeks have now passed, but the humiliation is still festering in her mind. The next day, she told an associate, who confronted Brian. I’ve brought it to the attention of the perpetrators — gently, I hope — and things seemed better for a while. Real estate agents meet clients alone in empty houses.

He’s Jewish and his collection is driven by the premise that “Hitler should plotz (drop dead) knowing that his stuff is in a Jewish home.” There is a scenario however, beside education, that would justify the purchase. Dear Knots: If the child’s parents are the “perpetrators” pushing food, then my main suggestion is that you should understand that they are the child’s parents and they have the right to handle mealtimes the way they think is best. I agree that this way of treating mealtime takes away a child’s agency; the parental hovering and hoovering can also be hard for others to witness. Questions to Ask Yourself After a Bad Ride - Cycling West - Cycling ... (cyclingutah.com)

By Sarah Kaufmann — A bad ride or race can really cut us to our core. If you have been working hard, preparing and training consistently, it can be.

Was it excessively hot or cold and/or were you not acclimatized for those conditions or was your clothing not appropriate for the temperatures? The Notes app on your phone or a dedicated app for this purpose can be really useful. If your in-race fueling and hydration seems adequate and appropriate, go through what you ate and drank in the 24-36 hours prior to the race, with extra consideration to the 4-6 hours leading up to the race. If there is both heart rate and power data, I look at both and compare whether heart rate is abnormally high or low for the power output. If this is the case for you, assess whether you felt like you were pushing as hard as you could and at your physical max, but you weren’t going as fast as you could reasonably expect OR did it feel like you could not access deeper intensities and you felt governed. Sometimes it feels like a bad ride or race is a deeper reflection of your identity as a person or athlete.

Ask Matt: Is the 'SNL' Cast Still Too Large? (TV Insider)

Plus, thoughts on the 'Grey's Anatomy' finale, questions about 'How We Roll,' and more.

Comment: Cheers to the season finale of NCIS: LA. The party at the beach was genius and positive with lots of storylines tied up. We can’t do this without your participation, so please keep sending questions and comments about TV to [email protected] or shoot me a line on Twitter (@TVGMMattRoush), and you can also submit questions via the handy form below. The last time I remember bowling working on TV was in NBC’s Ed (how I miss it), which isn’t to say this world is now off-limits, but it’s certainly a lost opportunity. As an aspiring professional bowler and a huge bowling fan and fan of the PBA for many years, the story of Tom Smallwood is one that I find very inspirational as do many people in my local bowling leagues. But since I too will likely stick with this show to the end because I’ve come this far, I’ll just fall back on my approach to how I watch so much episodic TV, especially broadcast variety: Power through the rough patches to get to the good stuff, which Grey’s at its infrequent best still delivers, thanks to this ensemble and in part to the shared history so many of us have with having watched them for so long, for better or worse. Matt Roush: I’ll take your word for the sports discrepancies, but the truly fatal flaw of this show was that it just wasn’t funny or fresh. I’m in until the end because I’ve invested so much of my life in the show, but this season has been especially frustrating to me, and this season finale was the worst. The actor who played Tom couldn’t actually bowl, the actors who played the professional bowlers when he was at tournaments couldn’t actually bowl, and they made them into wacky characters that wore hats or smoked cigarettes or had crazy nicknames, and that is strictly forbidden by the PBA tour as part of the persona clause. The residency program has been the backbone of this show, and watching it crumble to nothing is hardly a satisfying 400th episode celebration. I feel that if they dropped the cast to below 10, maybe around seven, they could improve the overall quality of the show by providing greater focus on the performers they have and provide greater recognition for them. I guess it was nice to see Jackson and April together and happy, but that’s all I’ve got in favor of this episode. The flashbacks and reuse of songs from previous episodes just served as a reminder of how much better the show was back then and felt really distracting from this narrative.

Ask a Caltech Expert: Nai-Chang Yeh on New Materials and the ... (Caltech)

Learn about what quantum materials are and why we can expect them in all our future technologies from physicist Nai-Chang Yeh.

But the application of quantum materials to qubits is certainly an area that can have impact on quantum computation. And not just quantum bits, you also need to have quantum memories, quantum networks, quantum transducers—all of those things. And of course, qubits are directly related to quantum computation. Also, there are qubits already made of quantum materials. She was always very dedicated to everything she did, and she was passionate about research. As you know, to make quantum computers you need to start with qubits, also known as "quantum bits." Right now, for instance, one of the major challenges in advancing semiconducting technology is that we need to continually decrease the size of nano-electronic components and devices. Typically, the sizes people are working with these days are mostly at the nanoscale or nanometer scale, which is a few billionths of a meter—a scale that's related to the size of molecules, or a few tens of atoms. Nowadays people generalize quantum materials to other things, including topological materials, low-dimensional materials, and engineered quantum materials. She investigates materials with fascinating quantum properties, such as superconductors, exotic magnets, graphene, topological materials, and materials made of atomically thin sheets or wires. (Note: Find a more in-depth discussion of these materials in theConversation recording). The definition of "quantum materials" these days is much broader than when the term was originally created. It's an umbrella term referring to materials that have properties that cannot be easily described by classical, or low-level, quantum physics.

“I’m ready to move to Charleston for the school year. “I was like gosh- this is gonna tell me- I’m not gonna tell me- I can’t go back to school.” Everything is healing. Everything is healing. Jessica’s mother Cheryl was a driving force in her daughter’s recovery, urging her daughter to fight. Fast forward to four months after the accident, when a smiling Jessica Kolp walked into Shandon Baptist Church with her family and friends, wearing cap and gown for graduation. “I definitely didn’t think me and my mom … both of us did not think how severe a TBI- or traumatic brain injury would be.” and everybody was praying for us. we were not sure if she was going to make it or not,” said Jessica’s mother, Cheryl. A few months ago, her young life was at a critical crossroads, but now, seemingly with divine help, she is moving forward and reaching milestones. Doctors prepared Cheryl for the worst, telling her that Jessica, a star athlete, may never walk again. “It was basically, she was…
