PowerA Fusion Pro 2 Midnight Shadow: Elite Controls in Your Hands (MakeUseOf)

Fusion Pro 2 wired controller; Pro pack with removable paddles; Two extra analog sticks; Extra faceplate (gray); Storage case; 10ft USB-C braided cable; User ...

However, it's undeniable that the Fusion Pro 2 has features that Microsoft should be kicking themselves over not including in their pro controller, and with the price difference added to the mix, I feel confident that if I had to make the choice, I would lean towards the Fusion Pro 2 based on its affordability and extra features. The design of the PowerA Fusion Pro 2 Midnight Shadow is similar to that of the official Xbox Series X controller. At this price range, the PowerA Fusion Pro 2 Midnight Shadow can be forgiven for some of its flaws. Another advantage the PowerA Fusion Pro 2 Midnight Shadow has over other elite gaming controllers is the housing that fits the detachable USB-C cable. But if you're happy with a solely wired controller, there's no doubt in my mind that this is one of the best for Xbox out there at the moment. At no point during any of the games did I find them to be intrusive, the only issue I did find with them was when placing the controller down on the side to take a break. The front of the controller features a microphone volume and mute button, which is extremely useful. In fact, programming them only took seconds, and I was able to change them on the fly, while in the middle of a competitive game of Call of Duty. But it's not just the features that help the PowerA Fusion Pro 2 Midnight Shadow stand out from the competition. Thankfully you can do just that; the modular paddle section easily unclips and can be replaced with a cover that locks in place. There's even a convex-capped stick included, giving you even more options and the ultimate freedom in designing the controller to match your preferences or play style. However, the new limited edition Midnight Shadow version fixes that with a new stylish faceplate.

Tokamak fusion energy potential upped (Power Engineering Magazine)

A revision of a fundamental law for tokamak fusion energy has doubled the fuel potential, thereby increasing the output energy potential.

Actually, DEMO will operate at a much higher power than present tokamaks and ITER, which means that you can add more fuel density without limiting the output, in contrast to the Greenwald law. “[The finding] is important because it shows that the density that you can achieve in a tokamak increases with the power you need to run it. With increasing fuel density, at some point a ‘disruption’ occurs, in which the confinement of the plasma is lost and the fusion process breaks down.

Fusion won't avert need for climate change 'sacrifice', says nuclear ... (The Register)

Nuclear fusion will not provide an answer to the medium-term "sacrifice" the world population will have to endure to get to net-zero carbon emission by 2050 ...

"I think we will have a fusion power plant — a pilot plant — in the 2030s. And I think we will have a cost-competitive fusion power plant in the 2040s, but at a small scale. If you're talking about the availability of fusion power on the grid, then it is well into the second half of the century, if all the engineering and technical challenges that are yet to come are solved." We will provide the hope of a sustainable energy future by fusion," he said. You're going to ask people to make a sacrifice if you want to meet that goal of net zero by 2050. "I think the answer is clearly no – we don't have the industrial capacity.

Bottling the Sun: Getting closer to mastering nuclear fusion (9News)

In February, scientists in the English village of Culham, near Oxford, announced a major breakthrough, sayi...

The scale and ambition of the ITER project may seem enormous, but it is, at the very least, a proportional response to the mess humans have made of the planet. At the moment, only 20kgs of it exist in the world, and demand amounts to no more than 400g per year. Deuterium is abundant in both fresh and saltwater - the deuterium from just 500ml of water, with a little tritium, could power a house for a year. By the end of the century, it might actually triple. Its magnets were made of copper and were built in the 1970s. Workers have already put together the shell of the tokamak, but they are still awaiting some parts, including a giant magnet from Russia that will sit at the top of the machine. Down here on Earth, for instance, it's used in televisions and neon lights, and we can see it in lightning and the aurora. Scientists and engineers designed giant magnets to create a strong magnetic field to keep the heat bottled up. The neutrons, which are able to escape the plasma, then hit a "blanket" lining the walls of the tokamak, and their kinetic energy transfers as heat. The missing mass converts to an enormous amount of energy. It was only enough to power one house for a day, and more energy went into the process than came out of it. Just 1 gram of fuel as input can create the equivalent of 7200kg (8 US tons) of oil in fusion power.

The second way in which I believe morel hunting is good for mind and body has to do with the health benefits of being in and around nature. My point is simply that taking on a hobby that gets you up, out, moving and interacting is good for your mental and physical health. The third aspect of morel hunting that may provide health benefits is that of community. To me, the experience has the potential to benefit your mental and physical health. That recipe is very high in saturated fat, which may negate the positive nutritional effects of the morel. In this "Health Fusion" column, Viv Williams explores how foraging for the elusive morel may be good for your physical and mental health.

The Latest Developments in Nuclear Fusion Technology (TechAcute)

Scientists and engineers target to find the most efficient method of generating electricity while considering resources, cost, and climate change. Albert ...

It’s clear that the core issues of nuclear fusion technology that need to be solved are the duration, cost, and maintenance. They plan to put the first commercial nuclear fusion technology power plant within a budget of $1 billion, generating 150MW power. As the world plans to go fossil fuel-free, nuclear technology will play an immense role in that development. Nuclear fusion technology allows two light atoms to merge into another heavy atom whose mass is less than the combined mass of both light atoms, releasing immense heat energy. Korea's artificial sun#KSTARsuperconducting tokamak device for nuclear fusion research succeeded in high temperature plasma operation raising ion temperature up to 100million degrees for the first time. Scientists and engineers target to find the most efficient method of generating electricity while considering resources, cost, and climate change.

Errors and Omissions in the CNN Article on the ITER Reactor (New Energy Times)

1. “Fusion promises a virtually limitless form of energy.” Tritium, half of the required fuel combination for nuclear fusion, does not exist as a natural ...

( Scientific facts and references are here.) ( Scientific facts and references are here.) Thus, although a blanket will capture the thermal energy in the tokamak, ITER will not have a lithium blanket to breed tritium. Although other construction activities at the site continue, the assembly of the tokamak chamber is part of the critical path. The first four sectors are, or have parts that are, defective; as a result, the French nuclear regulator ordered the ITER organization to suspend assembly of the tokamak chamber six months ago, in January. The conflict had been brewing since the summer of 2021, when the ITER organization failed an inspection by the regulator. The insertion of the first sector of the tokamak itself was scheduled to take place December 2021. Furthermore, the sentence “It was only enough to power one house for a day, and more energy went into the process than came out of it” is logically inconsistent. The overall reactor will consume more energy than it produces. This is an improvement over the 1997 result, in which the reactor lost 99.4 percent of the energy it consumed. It was only enough to power one house for a day, and more energy went into the process than came out of it. In the 2021 experiment, the reactor lost 98.3 percent of the energy it consumed. There is no proven way to synthesize tritium from lithium-6 in a fusion reactor faster than it would be consumed.
