The second big thing, I think, is just the style of racing with it being this kind of knockout format, short races. It’s gonna be a challenge! It’s quick and there’s potential for a lot of rubbing; there’s going to be a bit of argy-bargy for sure. The style of racing. I’m definitely quite excited for it as it’s a big change for me and it’s an exciting opportunity, because it’s so different. Blomqvist continued to impress in Formula 3 then moved to DTM where he became the second-youngest driver to win a race in his debut season in 2015.

BT Sport – Eurosport Merger: Your Questions Answered (Cord Busters)

BT Sport and Discovery are creating a new premium sports TV platform. When is it coming, will it cost more and what will it air? Here's everything we know.

And the biggest question of all – when is this even happening? This means that customers who subscribe to BT Sport via other 3rd party platforms – such as Virgin Media and Sky – will not be part of this deal, and will not get Discovery+ and Eurosport for free (at least as of this writing). Going forward, especially once the two brands are joined together into a single platform, we hope the combined cost will be less than the current separate costs of BT Sport and Discovery+/Eurosport – but it’s too early to tell. In the early stages of the new joint venture, it seems only eligible BT Sport subscribers will save money (£6.99/m) – by getting Discovery+ and its Eurosport content for free. Will Discovery+ / Eurosport Customers Get BT Sport For Free? If and when that happens, BT Sport and Eurosport UK will no longer exist as separate brands, and customers will get the combined sports broadcasts as part of a single service. Is Eurosport going away? BT Sport subscribers who get their subscription directly from BT, as well as most BT TV customers, will get the discovery+ streaming service (along with Eurosport) as part of their subscriptions, at no extra cost. So while customers may get combined deals and offers at that point, BT Sport and Eurosport UK will continue to exist as two separate TV and streaming platforms (but with new owners behind the scenes). Is this going to cost more – or less – than what sports fans are paying now? In early May, Warner Bros. Discovery and BT announced that two staples of sports TV in the UK – BT Sport and Eurosport – will be merging into a single premium TV and streaming sports service. The paid tier has TWO separate plans: Entertainment (£3.99/month with adverts) and Entertainment + Sports (£6.99/month) – which currently also includes the content that used to reside on Eurosport Player.

Inside BT Sport and Eurosport's merger: What the deal means, what ... (SportsPro Media)

BT Sport and Warner Bros Discovery have agreed to combine their UK sports broadcasting operations. SportsPro takes a closer look at the deal and speaks to ...

Sky’s exclusive deal with Warner Bros Discovery’s HBO has provided a steady supply of premium content for its entertainment channels and the Now TV streaming platform. It’s going to be important for us to develop because the proposition has to be the best of what both BT Sport and Eurosport do.” The joint venture already has a wide range of rights and the focus is likely to be on integration and maximising the portfolio rather than aggressively pursuing new properties. But the biggest threat to Sky from Warner Bros Discovery may not be sport in isolation. All involved say the new organisation will be just as innovative, but the focus will be on how technology can deliver the content more effectively rather than for technology’s sake. And it allows Warner Bros Discovery to strengthen its own position in sports as Eurosport represents a small share of viewing in the UK.” Its application helped normalise the idea of streaming in the UK and it has since experimented with virtual reality (VR), social viewing, and interactive timelines. BT might not be involved in a few years and although Eurosport is well known across the continent, it isn’t associated with premium content in the UK market. One thing that has been confirmed is that the ESPN brand will be phased out. For Discovery, the motivation is simple – it believes sport can drive subscriptions to its Discovery+ streaming service and BT Sport has the customers and rights portfolio to strengthen its overall entertainment proposition. Both companies have a 50 per cent stake in the joint venture but Discovery would appear to be the senior partner. Meanwhile, shareholders were increasingly sceptical of the value of investing in content when BT needed capital for its rollout of full fibre and 5G infrastructure.
