At 30-40 she shanks a forehand, then Trevisan goes long on the backhand ... and this time, Sasnovich, twice a break down in this set, punishes a backhand winner cross-court that breaks the sideline! But a forehand into the net gives Trevisan another go at 7-6 and a decent returns gets her into the point ... only for a forehand error to give it away. Trevisan has had a great run to this point and is yet to drop a set. A colossal double cedes break-back point, which Sasnovich saves, but she then nets a backhand when Trevisan raises another, and we’ll now decide the set on a breaker. Trevisan isn’t going to die wondering, upping the venom on her forehand to clobber a winner down the line for 0-15, then batters another for 0-30. But then another goes wide and Sasnovich finds a winner of her own for 30-all; can she close out? She goes for a monster but it’s long and Sasnovich climbs right into her second effort, spanking a backhand winner cross-court. Trevisan dictates with her forehand, and a mishit from Sasnovich goes wide! She breaks to love, having won eight of the last nine points, and will now serve for a decider at 5-3! She will be raging if she loses this, and when she goes long with a forehand that looks likely! Trevisan defends well, Sasnovich goes long on the backhand, and that’s match point! Fernandez will now serve for the set a second time.

French Open 2022: World No. 1 Iga Swiatek Not Distracted By 31 ... (Outlook India)

Iga Swiatek reached fourth round at Roland Garros for the fourth time in four appearances with 6-3, 7-5 win over Danka Kovinic on Saturday.

The last match Swiatek lost was against 2017 French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko back on February 16 in the round of 16 at Dubai. "It's not that I forgot how to play these kinds of sets." She also said she made sure to deliver a message to Swiatek when they shook hands at the net. In the second, she dropped four straight games to trail 5-4. The top nine men's seeds are into the fourth round, where Monday's matchups will be Medvedev vs Cilic in a showdown between past US Open champions; 2021 finalist Tsitsipas vs. Been more aggressive when she's needed to be." Yeah, it's a little scary," said Pegula, who needed 10 match points to close out her first-round victory, then eight more in her next match, but sealed Saturday's 6-1 7-6 (2) win over 2021 semifinalist Tamara Zidansek on her initial chance. Swiatek's groundstrokes are smooth, sure, but as with anyone's are liable to waver; her forehand was particularly problematic on a windy afternoon with the temperature in the low 60s Fahrenheit (teens in Celsius), accounting for 17 of her 23 unforced errors. All won in straight sets, except for Rublev, who required four, and Ruud, who edged No. 32 Lorenzo Sonego 6-2 6-7 (3) 1-6 6-4,6-3 at night. Swiatek's serve, for example, is solid but not especially speedy; her fastest Saturday was 108 mph, 7 mph slower than Kovinic produced. "Thinking about all these stats, it's not really helpful. Novak has a way of fuelling these situations into something positive - that is very hard to do. Well, he wins Rome; now it looks like, there is Novak Djokovic - he’s back! Slight, very slight!" "I don't think we have to worry a whole lot about Rafa at Roland-Garros, if you look at his record, it's crazy, it's insane how good it is.

Schwartzman thwacks a straight ball down the line and has another effervescent winner at the net, toying with Djokovic before dispatching punchily. Forcing movement from Djokovic by sending him all over the court, he goes level with a shot down the line which Djokovic can't meet. The crowd, heavily in favour of Schwartzman at the start, is more muted now, as Djokovic speeds to 40-0, forcing errors on his opponent. Attempting to hit behind his back on the backhand, Djokovic finds the net. Djokovic sends a shot long, and Schwartzman can hold onto the serve, and an important second set lead. His shot finds a tiny patch of court, right in the back righthand corner of the baseline, which Djokovic can't reach, but his attempt to close the game goes long, bringing the players to deuce. After a sticky start to his serve which sends him 30-0 behind, Djokovic powers an unreachable shot down the line. He gains the advantage after a looping shot from Schwartzman goes long, and punches the air after meeting every wild ball of Schwartzman's before he hits it long. At set point, Djokovic sends Schwartzman back deep, and his final effort to return Djokovic's forehand only reaches the net. He gains the advantage, and wins the game after Schwartzman sends his shot into the net. Djokovic hits Schwartzman's volley past him, to move ahead early into his serve, but Schwartzman keeps a cool head and levels at 30 all. After Schwartzman catches his spinning chip over the net, Djokovic attempts a second trick shot, but finds the net instead.

French Open 2022 live: Rafael Nadal vs Felix Auger-Aliassime ... (Telegraph.co.uk)

Nadal finds better rhythym in this game, and dispatches Auger-Aliassime, who overpowers at least two shots to send them out, quickly.

Auger-Aliassime is forced to hit long, and Nadal takes the game with ease. Nadal faults, and Auger-Aliassime has the chance, as his opponent did, to break his serve. But Nadal can be bested, and a well-placed shot glances the wrong way, leaving Nadal unable to run for it. Nadal returns easily, and wins a point firing a shot down the line with the smallest effort to go 0-30 up. He sends another fault into the sideline, and Auger-Aliassime has another attempt to break from advantage. The timings he can draw out of his shots can leave opponents baffled, and he sets up Auger-Aliassime to miss a well-weighted, considered shot. He double faults, and Nadal has broken back to win the game. Since 2015, Nadal has been able to break back nearly 50% of the time after he is broken at Roland Garros, which is quite the challenge to meet. Nadal sends a shot out to bring the players level on 30 all. Auger-Aliassime opens the points, but Nadal, mostly on his second serve, stems his advance, but sends his next return long to level them at 30 all. Nadal plucks a high dropshot out of the air and smashes it, once to be returned, then again up and out over Auger-Aliassime's head. Auger-Aliassime delivers his second ace of the match to stop Nadal from making good on his break point.
