The Steiners were allegedly sent boxes of live cockroaches and spiders, a funeral wreath, and a bloodied pig mask in retaliation for their reporting. A former eBay executive pled guilty to his role in harassing a Boston couple by sending them live cockroaches and spiders, among other things.

Harville personally flew to Boston from California with the goal of breaking into the Steiners’ garage to install a GPS tracker on their car. According to the FBI’s affidavit regarding the case, two of the eBay employees involved in this scheme even went out to the Steiners’ home to maintain surveillance on them. The Guardian reports how David Harville—who used to be the online platform’s Director of Global Resiliency—was certainly resilient in his efforts in terrorizing David and Ina Steiner of Boston. Along with the roaches and the spiders, Harville as well as six others who’ve admitted their roles in the harassment also sent the two items such as a bloody pig mask, a funeral wreath, and even a book on how to survive after the loss of a spouse.
