Achille Lauro will represent the Republic of San Marino with his punk-rock "feminist anthem" 'Stripper'

San Marino made their Eurovision debut in 2008, but were unable to take part in 2009 and 2011 due to financial issues. "I would define it as a punk-rock song, even though I prefer not to give a label to the things I do," he told wiwibloggs. The rapper, singer and songwriter has released six studio albums, and topped the Italian album charts twice. The nation was unable to take part in 2009 and 2011 due to financial difficulties. Lauro De Marinis, known professionally as Achille Lauro, was born in Verona, Italy in 1990. The second semi-final will then air on Thursday 12th May 2022.

After that I was invited to San Marino. I decided to accept and I won. Italian artists certainly have a lot to say, and I think that what should be considered a great result is the variety and the search for and enhancement of diversity! I used to root for them and I still do. We all bring something different to the market and to the audience. I believe that a wider audience, out of national thinking, favored a lighter interpretation of the lyrics. I didn’t see it as a job, but as my way to understand the reality.
