It also could mean that the integration or a reboot of previously non-MCU superhero teams like the X-Men and Fantastic 4 is imminent, particularly after cameos from Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Mr. Fantastic (John Krasinski). (A MCU “Fantastic Four” is officially in development, although it recently lost “Spider-Man” director Jon Watts.) Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, Clea was introduced in “Strange Tales #126" (1964). She spent her early years as a captive of Dormammu and his sister Umar, her mother. Before Theron was revealed in the role, there had been fan speculation that either “Harry Potter” alum Emma Watson or “Strange” co-star Rachel McAdams (who plays Dr. Christine Palmer in the film) would take on the iconic part. For less spoiler-y “Strange” content check out our review and a report from the world premiere on the movie’s connections to “WandaVision.” As established earlier in the film, an incursion is a breach in reality in which parallel universes collide. The scene features the good doctor (Benedict Cumberbatch) walking down a New York City street before a disembodied voice calls out his name.

How [SPOILER] in the 'Doctor Strange 2' Post-Credits Scene Sets ... (Variety)

The surprise introduction of a major star in 'Doctor Strange 2' has surprising implications the future of Marvel Studios.

Strange and Clea don’t have much history with Kang in the comics per se, but since the Disney+ series “Loki” established that Kang has designs to subjugate all of the multiverse, there’s a decent chance that Strange and Clea’s mission to prevent a multiversal incursion could lead them to pop up in the third “Ant-Man” movie. It almost seems like, by casting an actor too big and busy to turn over her career wholesale to the MCU, Marvel is signaling (intentionally or not) that the era of massive team-up films is over. It’s no surprise that Disney and Marvel are radio silent on their plans for Theron and Clea. But at the very least, we can reasonably expect Cumberbatch and Theron to headline the third “Doctor Strange” movie — and likely much sooner than the six year gap between the first and second films. Then she uses an energy blade to cut into the fabric of reality, exposing the Dark Dimension — as introduced in the first “Doctor Strange” movie. Jonathan Majors is set to appear in 2023’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” as Kang the Conqueror — a Marvel comics Big Bad on par with Thanos in terms of universe-threatening ambition. In the post-credits scene of “Multiverse of Madness” — or, technically, the mid-credits scene — we see Strange walking down a Manhattan street when suddenly, a white haired, purple-costumed Theron calls out his name.

Is Doctor Strange 2 Available to Stream? | POPSUGAR Entertainment (POPSUGAR)

Marvel's MCU movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is out in theaters, but is it available to stream on Disney+? Here's what to know.

If this is the case, we can expect the film, which released on May 6, to hit Disney+ sometime in mid-July. If it follows a 45-day release, it could be available to stream as early as June 20. The Marvel films of that year, including " Shang-Chi and The Legend of Ten Rings" and " Eternals" had a longer exclusive theatrical run, with approximately 70 days in theatres, according to Newsweek. In 2021, the company announced that many of their exclusive films, including " Encanto" and " West Side Story," would have exclusive theatrical runs, ranging from 30 to 45 days, and hit Disney+ afterwards.
