This approach ignores limitations that nearly always result in underpayments and lets commercial health insurers off the hook for intentionally increasing costs ...
Arbitrary rate cuts that fail to address underlying cost pressures would only hinder hospital and health systems’ ability to serve their communities and be prepared for the next public health emergency. Hospitals and health systems need to be able to invest in programs that improve care and support the communities they serve. Benchmarking commercial claims to Medicare payment rates mean these arbitrary rate cuts would have far-reaching ripple effects for care provided to all patients. The result is an automatic and arbitrary cut to all Medicare payments. It is misguided and wrongly paints hospitals as the source of all problems in the health care system. 2 For example, MedPAC found that in 2020, hospitals and health systems experienced a -8.5% margin on Medicare services in 2020.

"But the heart attack has taken her care for other human beings to a higher level." "I'm passionate about bringing awareness to heart disease and stroke," Tammy said. "When they first put me on the treadmill to see where I was, and I couldn't run, that really hit me," she said. We're going to put in a stent to clear the blockage and you'll be out of here in 25 minutes." She's been able to reduce her daily medications from five to three and lower the dosages. A year after her heart attack, Tammy organized a health summit at her church. "Was it because I like fries and sweet tea after practice?" She also had tightness in her left armpit and felt nauseous. Tammy also played in a softball league and walked regularly. Tammy retired from the squad in 2014, when she was 41. "When you put those pads on and you're playing against other players and hitting and getting tackled, I can't describe the rush." She could feel her age and worried that any injuries would take longer to heal.

Over the last 12 seasons, he has overseen the addition of current CHA members Lindenwood, Penn State and RIT and earlier this year managed the return of former member Robert Morris to the conference for the 2023-24 season. DeGregorio then worked with Buffalo’s HarborCenter administration to keep the Atlantic Hockey Tournament in Western New York beginning in 2019 and executed the move of the event to Utica’s Adirondack Bank Center in 2022. With that in mind, it is appropriate for both conferences to transition to new leadership as they address this new era in intercollegiate athletics,” DeGregorio said.
