In another sign of support for Kyiv, Sanchez announced on Monday that Spain would reopen its embassy in the Ukrainian capital “in a few days’ time”. He said Spain would continue to work for an end to Russia’s war in Ukraine, while also sending “all the humanitarian and military aid needed” and taking in Ukrainian refugees. “We are speaking about how we can contribute to rebuilding (Ukraine) after the war,” Frederiksen also told TV2.

Meanwhile, Frederiksen noted that Denmark has provided substantial political, financial and sanctions assistance to Ukraine since the conflict with Russia started. For his part, Sanchez said that Spain has contributed 120 million euros (about 130 million U.S. dollars) to the European Peace Fund and provided 31 million euros (about 33.6 million dollars) in humanitarian assistance for Ukraine. After the talks, Zelensky said Ukraine is counting on Spain's and Denmark's military and financial assistance amid the conflict with Russia.
