The ad-supported service is free for now, but that could change in time. The service will stream over 40,000 live matches per year from 100 Member Associations across all six confederations, including 29,000 men’s games and 11,000 women’s matches. It’s available globally on the web and mobile devices, in five languages (English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish) with more to follow.

FIFA takes on streaming companies with own soccer platform (Coast Reporter)

LONDON (AP) — FIFA is getting into the streaming platform business with a soccer version of Netflix and Amazon Prime.

The launch could see FIFA shift content off YouTube that it has previously used to broadcast classic matches and sports politics events. FIFA was less clear if the platform will be an accessible means of watching World Cup qualifiers that are often not available to view widely as each federation is able to sell the rights and some confederations bundle them together. “But there will always be a free experience on FIFA+."

FIFA Launches Streaming Service; Live Matches, Fulwell 73 Series ... (Deadline)

Ahead of the Qatar World Cup, soccer's governing body FIFA is bringing the game direct to fans by today launching streaming service.

Alves’ Maracanã Media produces the six-part show. Current soccer superstar Lionel Messi is among the contributors. The service will also offering original feature documentaries. FIFA+ will also offer every FIFA Men’s and Women’s World Cup match recorded on camera, totalling more than 2,000 hours. - Croatia: Defining a Nation, a feature-length doc from Louis Myles (Liverpool FC: The 30-Year Wait) about how soccer has united the nation, which was losing finalist in the 2018 World Cup, and how a group of friends from the nation became global stars in the face of extreme adversity. The organization says FIFA+ will provide access to thousands of live and archive matches, news and tournament information and a suite of original series from the likes of Fulwell 73, Andrew and Stuart Douglas, and England striker turned broadcaster Gary Lineker’s Goalhanger Films.

FIFA+ may serve as an alternative source for soccer viewers, although matches from the biggest and most popular teams aren’t on the streaming service yet. FIFA did not specify whether the games from this year’s World Cup will be available to stream on the service, or if they require premium charges. Original programming will include a documentary on Brazilian soccer player Ronaldinho, a docuseries that features the greatest goal scorers during the World Cup, and another docuseries on influential female soccer players.

The expanded 48-team tournament will give FIFA 80 games to market instead of the current 64, with many being played in state-of-the-art NFL stadiums. Gai’s role will include shaping a commercial strategy for the 2026 World Cup in North America that should earn huge revenues for FIFA and set records for average game attendance. Madati, a former executive with Twitter and Facebook, will leave after less than a year in the role and just months before the World Cup in Qatar, which is worth more than $6 billion in commercial revenue to FIFA.

The partnership with small business platform Xero covers multiple tournaments, including the 2023 Fifa Women's World Cup.

FIFA have officially launched their own video platform as they look to make the world game more accessible than ever.

The FIFA Plus platform is free to access and none of the current content requires a fee to watch. Once signed in, FIFA Plus is available across all web and mobile devices with a full range of connected devices to be confirmed soon. By the end of 2022, FIFA claims 40,000 matches will be covered live each year with games to be broadcast from 100 different member associations and include 11,000 women's matches. FIFA+ will live stream football matches with 1,400 games to be shown monthly on the platform from launch.
