When all the jury votes were counted Alvan and Ahez was in the lead by 102 points, 22 points ahead of the jury’s second place Marius. After a tense few moments and a lot of suspenseful music, it was announced that Cyprien Zeni won the jury wildcard and would also advance in the selection. First the artists performed their song and received feedback and a “like” from the jury.

Tonight Eurovision France, c'est vous qui décidez! selected the French entry for Eurovision 2022: Alvan & Ahez with "Fulenn"

The worst result was in 2014, where France ended last in the Grand Final. The group Ahez is composed of Marine Lavigne, Sterenn Diridollou and Sterenn Le Guillou.The group is known for performing Breton traditional heritage songs. Alvan notably performed at the Trans Musicales in Rennes.

This morning, the much-awaited French national final - 'Eurovision France: C'est vous qui décidez' - was broadcast live on France 2.

For those who aren't up on their French geography, Bretagne (perhaps better-known in English as Brittany) is a region of France situated at the country’s western-most peninsula. ‘Fulenn’ follows in the steps of Go_A, Tanxugueiras and others to produce something that melds electronic sounds with a uniquely Breton text and sensibility. One further song - Cyprien Zeni, with 'Ma Famille' - was chosen by the jury.

Konstrakta was crowned the winner of the 2022 Serbian national final Pesma Za Evrovizijiu and will be flying to Turin in May.

France participated in the very first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956, and went on to have a great first decade. The song, L’Oiseau Et L’Enfant, was performed by Marie Myriam, and her victory brought France a new record number of victories in Eurovision Song Contest history at that point. The 6 songs in the superfinal were then voted on by both the public and the jury, with a 50% weighting applied to each.
